The state of Timor-Leste, according to the President of the Republic's program,
will promote Timor-Leste's culture and ecotourism in Ramelau.
The event took place on Wednesday, October 27, 2010
At the cultural event, cultural representatives from thirteen districts in Timor-Leste,
received the President of the Republic, José Ramos Horta, in accordance with Timorese tradition,
and also delivered an old story to the President.
This program was a program aimed at building peace in Timor-Leste.
In his speech, President of the Republic Ramos Horta said it was very important
for all stakeholders to be able to contribute to peace in Timor Leste.
This cultural event also gave an income to people living day to day,
allowing them to sell goods at kiosks and gain revenue from visitors.
When reporters called on small traders selling their goods, such as coffee, bread, and other goods,
the traders said they got a a bit more revenue than on usual days.
At the event, President Horta also opened activities, such as a marathon run,
with participants from thirteen districts taking part in the competition,
running from the Sanctuary to the top of Mount Ramelau, Hatubilico, with a local becoming the winner.
