How to Plan a Mother-Daughter Weekend. Mothers and daughters share special bonds. Take some
time to get away and strengthen your bond, or even learn something about each other.
You will need Mother or daughter and free weekend. Step 1. Plan a weekend where both
of you will enjoy the day's activities. Mix up the weekend with different plans -- a little
sightseeing, shopping, and eating. If you share an interest, whether it's hiking, golf,
or knitting -- make sure to include that activity in your weekend planning. Step 2. Vacation
with a theme. Choose a spa getaway or a wine-tasting adventure. Step 3. If you don't want to travel,
you can still plan a special weekend together. Eat at restaurants you have always wanted
to try or visit nearby towns you never seem to have time to explore. Step 4. Visit family.
Go stay with another relative you haven't seen for a while. If you have a sibling who
lives out of town, take mom to visit there. Step 5. Schedule down time to talk and reminisce.
You may discover things about your mom you never knew. Did you know President Woodrow
Wilson announced May 9, 1914 the country's first Mother's Day.
