NARRATOR: ON THIS EPISODE OF WICKED TUNA.
JAY: Woo! Yeah, baby!
NARRATOR: AS THESE FISHERMAN HUNT FOR THEIR NEXT PAYCHECK.
BRUCE: We're over a rock, buddy. PAUL: Can't stop the boat.
MARCIANO: She's going under.
OLD RIVALRIES FLARE UP.
TJ: Get the (BLEEP) off my number, you (BLEEP) maggots.
PIN WHEEL CREW: Get out of here! Yeah, baby!
NARRATOR: WHILE MATES FIGHT TO SUCCEED.
JAY: This fish will not give up! JOE: Let's go!
HOT TUNA CREW: Oh!
NARRATOR: HARPOONERS RACE IN TO CONQUER.
HOLLYWOOD: There's a new sheriff in town,
and his name's Hollywood!
NARRATOR: IN ONE OF THE MOST REGULATED FISHERIES
IN THE WORLD
FISHERMAN: Yeah, baby!
NARRATOR: THESE FISHERMAN FIGHT TO EARN A LIVING.
MARCIANO: That's what it's all about right there.
JAY: Boom!
NARRATOR: CATCHING WICKED TUNA.
AT THE START OF WEEK TWO, THE HOT TUNA DOMINATES WITH A PAIR
OF FISH WHILE DEFENDING CHAMPION PIN WHEEL AND FISHING VESSEL
TUNA.COM TRAIL WITH ONE FISH EACH.
TYLER: I went out alone last week without mates,
managed to catch a fish alone.
Managed to get it done.
Woo! Look at the size of the butterball!
That's a big tuna, man!
But had I had mates, I probably would have caught two or three
fish, no problem.
It's really, really important for me to get a solid crew
on board this boat that's committed to winning.
I got my two college friends, Ari and Justin,
joining me as my mates for this season.
They've fished with me in the past,
a little bit here and there.
So they know how important it is that we catch a fish
and bring home a paycheck.
Hey, what's up, boys?
ARI-JUSTIN: Tyler, what's going on, T man? What's up?
TYLER: Nothing. You guys ready to do work or what?
ARI-JUSTIN: Absolutely. Oh yeah.
JUSTIN: Tyler's a really good friend of mine.
I know I don't have much experience with fishing,
and I trust Tyler's instincts.
And I'm willing to do whatever he says to get meat on the deck.
ARI: Last season, Tyler finished number one,
and every other boat wants to be number one.
So everybody's gonna be coming for our spot.
I'm inexperienced and it's my rookie season fishing.
So for him to take me in, it means a lot to me
and I'm not gonna let him down.
Let's do it, man. JUSTIN: Sick.
TYLER: Just don't poke yourself with the harpoon.
ARI: Oh, is that our first lesson?
TYLER: Yeah, lesson number one. JUSTIN: Nice.
TYLER: One of the disadvantageous of having
new mates is you have to teach them everything.
We could lose fish because they don't have the same experience
as other mates.
It's a risk that I'm gonna have to take because TJ's catching
fish, Dot Com's catching fish, and they got their crew's
established, and they know what they're doing.
So it's very important that the Pin Wheel gets up
to speed immediately.
I really hope I made the right decision.
DAVE: How do you think Tyler's doing with his new crew?
I have no idea who he's got.
SANDRO: Probably more of his buddies.
DAVE: I liked Alex and Adam.
Tyler, he had a winning team with those guys.
SANDRO: They had half a brain and they left, left Tyler.
DAVE: Poor Tyler. Not even here to defend himself. Too bad.
Mates are the key to success on a boat.
I'm fortunate to have Sandro and Garon.
And once Garon's comfortable with driving the boat,
we'll be unstoppable.
Just a blind bite today.
Bam! Dead.
TJ: Clean boat's a happy boat. I love that he's OCD.
It's great.
My guys. They help me all the time.
And you know, I'm lucky to have them.
I mean, it, it's a team effort.
So you worried to fish against Tyler this year?
JARRETT: I got a lot of confidence in you.
I'm not too worried about that at all.
TJ: Yeah, I mean, he's gonna do a lot of talking man.
At the end of the day, he's gonna be hiding in his bunk,
biting his fingernails, worried about what Hot Tuna's doing.
I heard Tyler's got a couple new mates.
He's put himself in a situation where, you know,
he might be in a straightjacket after this season, so.
Oh, we're on! We're on! We're on! Reel, reel!
That's it, that's it!
JARRETT: Definitely a tuna, man. Definitely a keeper for sure.
TJ: Watch out. We gotta move it away from the anchor line.
Let him go. Let him go.
Everything's going good.
I'm just a little worried about this anchor right here.
If this fish runs into the anchor line,
we are completely screwed.
We could basically cut our chances of landing this fish
in half.
Come on, Jarrett. Reel, reel, reel!
Oh (BLEEP). Ryan, come here. RYAN: (UNCLEAR)
TJ: Let him go. Let him go.
TJ: If the anchor line and the fishing line
cross, basically, the fishing line will get weak.
It'll start chaffing against the anchor line.
It'll melt, it'll pop, it'll burn.
And the fish will be gone.
Get a gaff, Ryan!
This is where seasoned mates and teamwork come into play.
Caught in the anchor line.
Right here.
No, Jarrett. JARRETT: About where?
TJ: Jarrett, hold on! JARRETT: Wha- I'm-
TJ: Let him go, let him go, let him go!
Jarrett, lift, here.
JARRETT: Here, I got you.
TJ: Quick, bring it over my head!
RYAN: Yeah!
TJ: Get back on it! Get him, Jarrett.
RYAN: Yeah! JARRETT: Yeah. Yeah, buddy.
TJ: Now that's teamwork.
And that's why you need strong mates.
JARRETT: What it's all about, buddy.
TJ: Uh, he's about thirty feet away.
Keep it tight, Jarrett.
Come on, Jarrett! Reel, reel, reel.
JARRETT: I see color. TJ: No way.
JARRETT: I see color. Yeah, he's coming.
TJ: Come on, Jarrett. Reel, reel!
JARRETT: I see...
HOT TUNA CREW Oh! (BLEEP)!
TJ: (BLEEP) right there, dude. Twenty feet away.
Broke him off.
Chaffed him off.
Oh. (BLEEP) Right there, dude.
Some chafe right here. Some chafe there.
Chafe right there.
I mean, that was a heartbreaker.
That fish was five minutes away from getting harpooned.
Maybe less.
We're gonna get back on the anchor
and we're gonna get another one.
JAY: Come on, tuna.
MARCIANO: Okay.
There, we get a line out in the new spot.
JAY: Can we chum?
MARCIANO: What, yeah, just a light sprinkle.
Don't get carried away.
My nephew, Jay, and I have got high hopes for today.
We've got my son, Joe in the boat,
and he's always been our good luck charm. Yeah, baby!
JAY: Yeah, baby!
MARCIANO: Tails up, man. That's what it's all about.
And once again, the luck charm back there came through for us.
JOE: Yeah, I told you I had something up my sleeve.
MARCIANO: We got a lot at stake here.
Not only do we have the normal expenses,
we didn't catch any tuna last week.
Plus, Joe's headed off to college soon and I got
to pay for that.
We've got to put some tuna on the deck.
So Joe, where's all this luck you usually bring us anyway?
You haven't been using it all up at the casino or something
on the weekend, have you?
JOE: I don't know. Only one way to find out.
MARCIANO: It's a long walk back from here, son.
JAY: And he'll probably make you carry the anchor.
ALL: LAUGHING...
HOLLYWOOD: We're all set. No pressure.
Standing by.
My name's Bill Muniz.
I'm captain of the harpoon boat, Lily.
A lot of people call me Hollywood.
I always thought I was a star.
MARK: I see a couple of 'em here. Yep.
HOLLYWOOD: The difference between harpooning and rod
and reeling is, harpooners are hunters.
Harpooning, you're always moving, looking for them.
You're going to the fish, versus waiting for the fish
to find you, as you are when you're rod and reeling.
MARK: Start slowing it down.
I don't, I don't even see 'em here now.
Oh, I see 'em down deep.
I see a big bunch.
HOLLYWOOD: A good harpooner is only as good as his pilot.
Marky's one of the best.
MARK: Hold that course like that.
HOLLYWOOD: He spots all kinds of tuna and guides us to the fish.
MARK: At six o'clock.
Probably about eight or nine boat lengths.
HOLLYWOOD: He flies, he sees, and we're on our way.
JIMMY: Which way are they heading?
MARK: They're right to your left.
HOLLYWOOD: I rely on my first mate, Jimmy,
to coordinate with Marky to get me in the right spot.
Ian helps Jimmy get the fish in the boat and gets the fish ready
for the buyer.
JIMMY: Right here. Right here. Right here.
HOLLYWOOD: Take them head on.
Hold on, Jimmy. Hold on.
The fish is moving, the boat's moving,
my job's to throw that harpoon and hit that tuna every time.
There's no better thrill.
MARK: Three boat lengths.
Hold that steady, just like that.
Twelve o'clock.
Turn it right a little bit. Hold that steady for a second.
You got to stay to the left a little bit.
Back on the left, Jimmy. Back on the left.
HOLLYWOOD: All right, get down by them a little more.
MARK: You may have to reach out a little bit.
Hold that steady for a second.
If you can get a hold of the guy right there.
Yup, that's it.
You may have to reach out a little bit.
Hold that steady for a second.
If you can get a hold of that guy right there.
Yep, that's it.
HOLLYWOOD: Yeah, all right.
(BLEEP).
MARK: (BLEEP)! JIMMY: Ho.
HOLLYWOOD: I miss him, I get back up.
We're the real deal. We're the warriors of the ocean.
JIMMY: We're gonna reload, and hopefully we get another shot
out of this big school.
TYLER: What the (BLEEP)?
Yo, it looks like tubby Tuna's gonna come over and have
a word with us.
TJ: Get the (BLEEP) my number you (BLEEP) maggots!
TYLER: Dude, when you left, they became my numbers, pal.
You handed them off.
TJ: These ain't your numbers, dude. You're dreaming.
Just 'cause you stole 'em out of my plotter,
it don't make 'em yours.
TYLER: Go fish Dot Com bottom. Just go somewhere else.
TJ: When Tyler was my mate. I had to use Tyler's phone.
Looked at the phone, and it's a picture of my plotter.
And my numbers of where I was sitting, my coordinates.
Here I am vouching for this kid that no one else would give
the time of day to, and he's basically spitting in my face.
You better get ready 'cause there's a big nightmare coming,
dudes. It's a blue boat. You're looking at it.
JARRETT: Yeah, get 'em, Reba! Get 'em! Get 'em!
TJ: All right, we're out of here.
JARRETT: You see this? Hot Tuna, baby!
ARI-TYLER: Get outta here! This is the Pin Wheel, baby!
TJ: Hey guys, what do you say we welcome Tyler's new mates
to Gloucester?
JARRETT: That's a cool down right there!
Pow pow!
Hot Tuna coming at ya! Better recognize!
MARCIANO: Here we are. We're out on Jeffreys.
We don't know what today's gonna bring.
But it sure looks like a fishy day to me.
But with Joe in the boat, this is his last trip
before he goes to college.
If we catch a few fish, it's gonna help him out.
JAY: We're on! We're on!
MARCIANO: Let's get 'em! Let's get 'em!
JOE: Yeah!
MARCIANO: We got this fish on the hook.
And this is just what we need.
This will put us on the leaderboard.
You're doing good. You're doing good.
JAY: Hold on, dudes. JOE: (UNCLEAR)
JAY: Ready, Joe? JOE: Yep, go.
JASON: Go ahead.
MARCIANO: This is what we've been waiting for.
Joe's definitely good luck after all.
We're hoping to land this one.
Over the rail.
In the pail.
JAY: There's the color!
MARCIANO: What? JAY: What is it?
MARCIANO: Shark. (BLEEP).
JASON: It's a blue shark. Big freaking blue shark.
MARCIANO: A lot of excitement for nothing.
Just wasted time, money, and effort right there.
We'll get back on the anchor, and we'll get the rigs out
and keep at it.
PAUL: Let's go catch some tuna! Let's light this place up!
That's nice! Yeah! Yeah! That's nice.
BRUCE: ...That'll work.
PAUL: I need to new boat this season, so I leased this one,
and we're gonna take her out and see how she handles.
BRUCE: Looks, good, man. PAUL: Yep.
BRUCE: We'll be the real deal.
PAUL: I christened her the Wicked Pissah!
Just temporarily until I can get my own boat.
We need to catch some fish this year just so I can buy a boat
for next year. BRUCE: We'll make it work.
PAUL: Last season I brought in just over fifty thousand dollars
worth of fish.
I'm hoping that we can pick up where we left off last year.
My first fuel bill. As captain.
Now we're happy if we have bottled water. (Laughing)
I need to catch 25 tuna fish this year to feed my family,
make sure Bruce makes enough money to get through the winter.
BRUCE: Feels good to get off the dock here.
You ready, Paul? All set?
PAUL: Let's go catch some tuna.
BRUCE: Let's turn key and go kick some ***.
PAUL: First trip, baby.
BRUCE: There's a lot of room, huh?
PAUL: Isn't it? Do you like it?
BRUCE: Yeah. Yeah. PAUL: It's gonna work.
BRUCE: And you can cut right through here,
is this your channel? PAUL: Yup, yup.
This is like the most fierce rocky shoal there is right here.
I'm trying to...
You know, you go zoom in and zoom out and you could see
the whole world and then... BRUCE: Yeah.
PAUL: You know, I'm trying to do that.
But it just (BLEEP) won't let me do it.
I don't even know where it's going right now.
Where'd it just take off to? Now it's gone.
Boston, where is Gloucester, where?
BRUCE: It's up here.
PAUL: It doesn't say anything.
So I'm pushing the button on the GPS.
And the button is sticking.
So it's like blowing up where you can't even see the boat.
You rely on that to plot a course to know where the hell
you're going.
I cannot figure it out. I just don't (BLEEP) know.
What was that? BRUCE: We're over a rock, buddy.
Better get outta here.
PAUL: I can't stop the boat.
This is like the most fierce rocky shoal there is right here.
What was that? BRUCE: We're over a rock, buddy.
Better get outta here.
PAUL: I can't stop the boat.
I'm trying to (BLEEP) do the controls, and I can't.
BRUCE: There's rocks all around us, Paul! Move it!
Right right, turn the boat right!
All right, we're in the clear.
PAUL: We hit a sandbar.
The reason why we hit is because of the faulty electronics.
Not the way you wanna start out.
Leaving a frigging harbor, are you kidding me?
I don't know why people think this is good stuff.
This is junk. The electronics are crap.
Crap.
This boat's a piece of (BLEEP).
It doesn't just smell like (BLEEP),
it is a piece of (BLEEP). (LAUGHING)
If I was gonna spend five grand on something,
I'd buy a nice machine.
Not a machine from a catalogue.
I don't know if we're gonna sink or not,
but the only way to find out is to take her out to sea.
MARK: Twelve boats at twelve o'clock.
HOLLYWOOD: Marky's spotting all kinds of schools of fish today.
We gotta get in the game and put some tuna on the deck.
My mates are counting on me to do that and I'm counting on them
to help me make it happen.
MARK: Just twelve o'clock at uh eight boats.
We just saw the fish jump. It's ahead of the bunch.
There's quite a bit of fish behind that.
Those jumpers are way out front. Way out front.
JIMMY: Come on, Hollywood! Let's go!
MARK: Two boat away. Eleven o'clock.
Hold that steady for a little longer here.
Right there, twelve o'clock.
Hold that steady.
Hold that steady.
JIMMY: This is gonna be a big one!
MARK: Nice fish right in front of you.
That's the one you want.
Hold that steady.
HOLLYWOOD: Right here, right here, right here!
JIMMY: Come on, come on, come on!
HOLLYWOOD: Yeehaw!
MARK: Bingo! Nice job, ***.
HOLLYWOOD: That's how you do it, kid!
JIMMY: Get that, nice job, Billy. Pretty one.
HOLLYWOOD: I think this is gonna dress at least 480, 495,
my guesstimate on this fish.
I'm just so happy we got started this way.
It couldn't be better. IAN: 103. Awesome.
HOLLYWOOD: I'll take this every day of the season.
Yeehaw! MARK: Oh, good-bye.
PATRICK There she is.
What do you got, what do you got?
HOLLYWOOD: There's a new sheriff in town
and his name's Hollywood.
PATRICK: Wow, big boy today, huh? That's a keeper. Wow.
What are you gonna do with all your money?
HOLLYWOOD: I don't know. Maybe we'll go to Florida this winter.
MAN: That's good right there.
I'd say like 470 something, that's it. Four-
PATRICK: 491, Hollywood. 491.
HOLLYWOOD: Who's the man, Patrick?
PATRICK: You the man.
HOLLYWOOD: It's the moment of truth to see how good
the quality is, to see what the market's gonna pay.
PATRICK: Still alive, it is. Billy, way to go.
Nice fish, nice fish, this is one of the best ones
we've seen all week.
Good color, very good shape, nice thick belly.
That's gonna be eighteen dollars a pound.
HOLLYWOOD: Who's better than me?
PATRICK: You the man.
HOLLYWOOD: This fish dressed at 491 pounds. Great quality.
It's almost nine grand to us. And sounds like a great day.
JIMMY: Nice, ***, nice.
TYLER: Keep throwing it.
Wit- get it about five feet off the side of the boat.
JUSTIN: Okay.
TYLER: Having mates that haven't been trained is great.
Because it allows me to train them my way.
And teach 'em my way of fishing.
It's very important we get through the learning curve
with the new mates ASAP. Ari.
Ari, how you feeling over there? Ari's seasick.
ARI: Hmm.
TYLER: That's marking hard, dude. Yes, sir.
Well, we got a streaker streaking up.
We're on! We got a big boy on here!
Ari, reel in the extra rods.
We are onto a giant bluefin tuna.
There you go, Justin, just rip everything right off.
Here, here you go. Perfect. ARI: I'm gonna puke.
TYLER: Go get on that rod, Justin.
Don't pull on the line! If he's boosting out line...
JUSTIN: Yep, yep.
TYLER: Just let it go, just let it run.
Get out of here. Twist this down.
Ari is puking off the back of the boat.
So what do you think?
JUSTIN: I think it's a pretty good sizer.
TYLER: Look out.
Reel, reel, reel as fast as you can. Look out.
JUSTIN: Woo!
TYLER: Ari, get that wooden gaff that's up there off the roof.
Making a nice run here, this fish is, go reel, reel, reel,
reel, reel, reel.
Look at that rod tip, Justin. That's all you care about.
Reel. Reel, reel, reel as fast as you can.
If that rod tip starts coming up,
then you've gotta turn that handle.
JUSTIN: Yep. Yep.
TYLER: Justin, keep turning that handle.
JUSTIN: Yep. Oh yeah.
Here we go.
TYLER: Come on, use them pretty boy muscles.
Reel as fast as you can.
I've reeled these things in like no one's business.
Let him go, let him go, let him go.
JUSTIN: Yeah.
TYLER: I know Justin is trying his best on the rod,
but I can't risk losing this fish.
I gotta land this tuna by myself.
Justin, you know forward and reverse?
JUSTIN: Yep.
TYLER: The right side only, never touch the throttle.
Neutral. Neutral.
Forward a little bit, forward a little bit.
JUSTIN: Oh, that's it, we're getting color.
Get ready on the harpoon. Want me to get on line?
TYLER: Yeah, get on the rod.
JUSTIN: On the rod, I'm on. Got him!
TYLER: All right, come tend this line, Ari.
ARI: Come what?
TYLER: Come tend this line. ARI: I hit the, I hit-
TYLER: Let go, let go, let go, let go, let go.
ARI: I got the gaff.
TYLER: No, (BLEEP) the gaff. Put the gaff down.
ARI: All right. And you hit him with that, huh?
TYLER: Dude, would you come hold the rope?
ARI: Yeah.
TYLER: Now pull it in nice and easy, but don't, if he goes,
let him go. Justin, get ready with the gaff.
JUSTIN: Come to papa.
TYLER: Gaff right in the (BLEEP) head.
JUSTIN: Here we go. TYLER: Help me, help me.
Ari, give me the other gaff. Hurry up!
We're gonna lose him!
Ari, gaff the fish! Oh!
Justin, get ready with the gaff.
JUSTIN: Oh here we go.
TYLER: Help me, help me. Ari, give me the other gaff.
Hurry up! We're gonna lose him!
Ari, gaff the fish! Oh (BLEEP). Whoa.
JUSTIN: No.
TYLER: (BLEEP). We just lost him.
JUSTIN: No.
TYLER: Yeah. Yup, just lost him.
Wow. Oh (BLEEP).
That was a stupid way to lose one.
JUSTIN: We'll get the next one.
TYLER: I've got TJ and Dot Com gunning for me.
Every fish counts.
It's important that every time we get a fish up to the boat,
especially that close, we make sure we put him in the boat.
What the (BLEEP), man?
Next time like when the fish is up next to the boat and we got
like one gaff in it, someone's really gotta like focus
on sticking a gaff in the tail. That was just an amateur move.
Terrible.
RYAN: Got a really nice mark.
It's a little suspicious but he looks like a nice guy
right here.
He's right where our bait is at the moment.
There it is. We're on! We're on! We're on! We're on! We're on!
Let's get him! Let's get him! We're on!
TJ: Reel, reel, reel!
Jarrett, Jarrett, get to the anchor. Go, go, go.
RYAN: It feels like a good one.
Waffled over pretty good, took a bunch of line.
Now we're just trying to stay on top of him.
TJ: You know, we want this fish more than anything.
We need the fish for the leaderboard,
but I also want this fish to pay the gas bill, pay our ice bill,
to pay our food bill so the guys get a paycheck.
Give him a fresh arm.
RYAN: Ready? Go TJ: All right, good job.
RYAN: Go, go, go.
JARRETT: Nothing like being back on the rod.
TJ: Come on, Jarrett. Reel, reel!
This fish could be worth five grand.
JARRETT: He's running!
Now it's a big fish. He's bouncing his head a lot.
He's taking all the line.
TJ: He's running, he's running he's out on top. Jesus.
RYAN: It's do or die time.
TJ: Big fish, tough fish. Oh watch- watch, watch the head.
He's taking a lot of line.
We're down *** pretty deep right now.
Keep it tight, Jarrett! Reel, reel, reel! Reel, reel!
Reel, reel, reel!
JARRETT: Got color, color!
TJ: Swivel.
Get on the sticks.
Keep reeling.
It's a big fish, big fish.
RYAN: Get him! TJ: Aw hell, I missed!
RYAN: Already close.
TJ: Here he comes. He's deep color.
JARRETT: Here he comes.
He's turning, turning, turning, turn!
TJ: Got him. Got him!
JARRETT: We got a dart in him so far.
Doesn't mean it's over with.
TJ: Get on my right! Gaff on my right! Gaff on my right!
RYAN: Give me the other one.
TJ: Gaff on my right! RYAN: Tail rope.
TJ: Rope on my right. JARRETT: Rope r-rope!
TJ: Watch the line. JARRETT: Yep.
TJ: Watch the line, everybody. Woo hoo hoo.
RYAN: Got you!
JARRETT: Woo! There we go! There we go!
TJ: He's 4- 450 dressed.
I say he's a hundred and five inches.
Ha ha! JARRETT: Woo hoo hoo hoo!
TJ: That is your basic Gulf of Maine butterball right there,
baby. Woo.
JARRETT: You wanna measure this? TJ: Yeah, man.
94. Woo! RYAN: 94.
TJ: We'll take it, baby.
That fish put up a pretty good fight but my team's awesome.
Now we got three fish under our belts.
Give me five. Good girl.
JARRETT: Hey. Ah!
TJ: Woohoo! JARRETT: Hey, yeah!
TJ: Hot Tuna's on fire! Pa-pow!
BUYER: Looks nice and fat from up here.
TJ: It is a beauty. It's like a big eye.
MAN: Oh yeah.
TJ: All right, let's see what he dresses at.
JARRETT: What did we get, Bubba? BUBBA 374 pounds.
TJ: Woo! Thank you.
JARRETT: 374! All right! Hell yeah.
TJ: Biggest one yet. Butterball, baby.
JARRETT: All right. TJ: Nice fish.
Now we'll find out what the quality of the fish is
and what the market will pay.
BUYER: He's got a nice shape to him, so.
It's got good fat. Nice and oily.
TJ: Let's check out the core.
All right. What are you thinking? I mean realistically.
BUYER: Price wise, realistically.
We can do seventeen a pound.
TJ: That's awesome, man. Thank you. Pow!
Seventeen dollars a pound, it's over six thousand dollars.
I mean it's a great, great payday.
You know, we're very, very happy to get what we got.
We're number one on the rod and reel boats right now.
JARRETT: Nice.
RYAN: Number one. TJ: We gotta keep it there.
RYAN: And we'll stay there.
TJ: Ice up. Fuel up. We're right back out.
JARRETT: Yeah, turn and burn. TJ: Head back out.
MARCIANO: Well we got something going on here.
That's right above the depth where we got one of our baits.
Give it a minute here.
Something interesting could happen.
All we gotta do is wait...and wait...and wait.
JAY: We're on! We're on!
That's a fish! That's a fish!
Woo! Yeah baby!
MARCIANO: All right, the Hard Merch is back in the game, baby!
JAY: That's a screamer! Yeah baby, scream!
JOE: Woo! I told y'all I was good luck. Let's go!
JAY: Kick it, Dave! Kick it, kick it, kick it! kick it!
We gotta go! We gotta go, bro!
JASON: Communication always lands fish.
MARCIANO: This fish is taking all the line off that reel.
We got to catch up with him.
If that fish empties the reel, the line's gonna part off,
and it's gonna be over.
JAY: Keep the pressure on the fish.
Slowly wear him down.
He will not give up!
This fish is a warrior.
JOE: Keep it up, Jay. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go, Jay.
JAY: Watch that line! MARCIANO: He's going under.
JAY: Watch the line, Joe! Watch that line!
Yeah baby! Yeah baby, scream!
This fish will not give up. He will not give up!
JOE: Keep it up, Jay, let's go, let's go, let's go, Jay!
JAY: Watch that line!
MARCIANO: He's going under. JAY: Watch...
You saved that one, Joe! You saved that fish!
You just saved that.
MARCIANO: Great teamwork, guys, on that fish.
JAY: That was close.
MARCIANO: That fish tore under the boat,
those guys were on the ball, Jay was on the rod,
Joe made the fender maneuver and saved that fish.
On a lesser boat, that fish would have been gone
in an instant.
JAY: Oh there he is, there he is. I saw him. Oh my goodness!
MARCIANO: We're real close now, we got him within thirty feet.
This is when all this teamwork will come together nicely.
JAY: Ah, there he is, there he is, I saw him.
MARCIANO: He won't give up.
Hit him, Jay.
JAY: Yes!
MARCIANO: All right, let's get a gaff and a tail strap,
gentlemen.
JAY: Don't have him yet, we don't have him yet.
MARCIANO: He's not on the boat yet, boys.
JAY: On my goodness!
MARCIANO: Yeah! Nicely done. We got him.
JAY: Yes! MARCIANO: Nice job.
JOE: Let's go.
MARCIANO: Well done, all right.
Yeah, old school. He's at least a five hundred pounder. Nice.
JAY: That's a slob.
MARCIANO: All right, let's see what he measures.
JOE: 102. JAY: 103.
MARCIANO: We worked hard for this fish,
we were getting a little discouraged, but ultimately,
we just kept at it and right there is the reward.
JOE: 102. I was right.
MARCIANO: Yeah. Guys, well done. Great day.
Tails up. That's what it's all about right there.
JASON Boom!
MARCIANO: Home again, home again, with another fat pig.
BRUCE: All right, man. This is it.
PAUL: Yep. I'm gonna anchor here, what the hell?
Look at, we could just start having a big cookout.
Ha! All right, let me figure out the wash-down system.
We didn't get off to a great start today,
but we made it out here without sinking.
So now we're gonna drop anchor and see if this baby
can catch fish.
See if this'll go through.
Nope.
BRUCE: Won't go through?
PAUL: That one won't. Oh.
BRUCE: What's up with that? No rubber in it.
PAUL: Destroy my rod.
Oh...! Don't ask me what that is but have to fix that.
Any time you turn your head, we're gonna have to fix
something.
This isn't even tuna fishing, this is me chasing (BLEEP)
sliding around the boat all day. It's a joke.
BRUCE: We're on, we're on.
I got him.
He's coming at us. He might be into you.
PAUL: I know. Hold on.
BRUCE: The lines are getting into each other here.
PAUL: Nope. BRUCE: Ah (BLEEP)!
PAUL: Sorry, you all right? Ha, ha, your hat again.
BRUCE: Gut hooked or something.
PAUL: Yeah, he's just on the side, Bruce.
This one here's gonna pay a lot of bills. Get him.
BRUCE: (BLEEP). It's gonna end up under the boat.
PAUL: All's it takes is one time for that line to touch the boat
and that's the difference between pulling a fish in
and losing him.
BRUCE: Where the hell is he? He's over here, Paul.
He's over on the other side of the boat.
PAUL: I know. BRUCE: Uh...!
PAUL: I don't believe it.
BRUCE: I've seen 'em, tuna fish act like that.
Once they see the boat or something,
they'll freak right out and dump you.
PAUL: We can't blame the boat for losing the fish.
But nothing's gone right, today.
So we need to find a boat that'll work for us.
If I have to get a canoe, I'm rowing my *** out there.
(LAUGHING)
DAVE: Watch out for the down.
GARON: Oh ho ho ho ho ho ho ho! SANDRO: Yeah.
DAVE: Yeah, now that's a full house, baby!
GARON: That's supper. That's supper right there.
DAVE: Yeah. So keep 'em in the boat, now. Keep them in the boat
There they are, right there. Whoa, baby! Yeah!
Those are nice fish right there, boys.
Right there, there's three of 'em, there's four of 'em,
right now. One, two, three!
SANDRO: There you go. GARON: Yeah!
SANDRO: Hey! DAVE: We're on!
SANDRO: There you go.
DAVE: Garon, get that down rod.
Close with that one, all right... good job.
GARON: Yeah, baby...! SANDRO: About time.
DAVE: Come on, baby! Come on, crank for bank.
Garon, you start driving.
Stay on those controls, get ready.
Reverse.
Easy, no throttle, no throttle. Reverse.
Straighten the wheel out, yep. Reverse.
SANDRO: Keep coming back. DAVE: Cut the wheel.
SANDRO: Keep coming.
DAVE: No, no, no. Cut the wheel only.
GARON: It's cut all the way.
SANDRO: Neutral. DAVE: Neutral.
SANDRO: Reverse. DAVE: Reverse.
We got clockwise pinwheels.
SANDRO: Give it some throttle, a little throttle.
Come on. Keep coming, let's go, come on, keep coming.
DAVE: Listen to him, listen to him, come on.
SANDRO: Neutral, stay neutral. DAVE: Forward left a little.
The other way. The other way! The other way...!
SANDRO: The other left, go left, left, left, left!
DAVE: Ah, jeez, Garon!
SANDRO: Left, let's go! Give it some gas! Throttle!
DAVE: We got clockwise pinwheels.
SANDRO: Give it some throttle, a little throttle.
Come on. Keep coming, let's go, come on, keep coming.
DAVE: Listen to him, listen to him, come on.
SANDRO: Neutral, stay neutral.
DAVE: Forward left a little. The other way.
The other way, the other way! SANDRO: The other left, go left,
left, left, left! DAVE: Oh geez, Garon.
SANDRO: Left, let's go! Turn the damn throttle!
Neutral, neutral.
DAVE: Don't ever turn up with the fish.
Get on it again. Don't ever turn towards him.
SANDRO: Reverse! DAVE: Reverse!
You can't turn, you can't swing the stern over,
you gotta swing it away from him.
SANDRO: Neutral, neutral.
Reverse.
Neutral.
DAVE: That's it, nice job, nice job.
SANDRO: Neutral, neutral.
Feels like a nice sized fish. He's pretty wild, though.
DAVE: Remember when he comes up like that, remember how we,
you drove on top of him?
GARON: Yeah. Yeah, Sandro, whew! I'm getting it.
This is tricky though.
SANDRO: Neutral.
Got it going back slow?
DAVE: Look when the fish comes up and you see him up (BLEEP)
back right on.
SANDRO: Ah ho ho ho... (BLEEP).
DAVE: All right. Let's go, recover.
SANDRO: Brutal. Brutal, brutal, brutal.
DAVE: Can't catch a break. The hook came out again.
Pulled hooks. Nothing you can do about it.
After this whole thing with Garon throttling the wrong way,
the hook pulls out.
It's not right there yet with Garon.
We're trying to get him dialed in.
He'll come along.
GARON: The more time I spend on the wheel,
the more comfortable I am, and when this fish pulls out stunts,
I'll know what to do.
JUSTIN: Yo, Ty, we got-oh, sick. Get on here. Get on here.
Get him in, get him in, get him in. Grab him. Grab him.
TYLER: Oh, yeah, perfect. Good job.
Still hoping that rod bends over.
There's definitely a limit on my patience when it comes
to getting new mates up to speed.
This can't be a long learning curve.
They're gonna have to learn really, really fast.
It's costing me money and fish.
JUSTIN: We're on! We're on!
TYLER: Just don't pull on the line.
Do not try and stop him.
JUSTIN: Got something pretty beastly on the line,
here. Ten thousand dollar bill swimming around out there
that we got.
Took a lot of line out, just really trying to fight
to get it back in.
This thing is a beast!
TYLER: Here we go, baby, let's get that thing on board, eh?
JUSTIN: Let's go. Whew, baby! Keep cranking on him!
Come on! Come on!
ARI: Yeah, bend that rod, dude. (BLEEP)!
Here we go, man.
JUSTIN: I think I see it.
(BLEEP)!
TYLER: Oh, it's a big *** shark. JUSTIN: Dammit!
TYLER: Wow, we got skunked by the shark gods. (BLEEP).
I thought it might have been a tuna.
It had me fooled. Took right off.
JUSTIN: Really gonna try to get him to the boat, release him.
***! TYLER: Isn't that fun?
Yo, at least it gives Justin some time on the rod.
JUSTIN: This is only our first week out here,
and it definitely is good to have a practice run,
a nice fire drill to get us going.
In case that was a real tuna, we know exactly what to do,
from now on.
Gonna put the lines back out, see if we can get another one.
TYLER: These guys gotta bring their 'A' game,
so they better fall in line and understand the program, fast.
There's money on the line.
I want to make the most money out of the fleet.
I want to catch the most fish. I want to bury the competition.
EVA: That might be him over there.
NANCY: Oh yeah, the boat's coming in, there it is.
PATSY: Coming back with a fish, finally, huh David?
Good job.
MARCIANO: Thanks, Patsy.
PATSY: Up we go.
493 pounds.
MARCIANO: Not too shabby. We'll take it.
PATSY: Looks nice.
MARCIANO: What do you think, per pound, Patsy?
PATSY: Well Dave, quality looks nice and the core is good.
Seventeen dollars a pound. MARCIANO: Beautiful. We'll take
PATSY: Today's market. MARCIANO: we'll take that.
493 pounds.
We're gonna get seventeen dollars a pound for that.
That's a little over eight grand.
I had the winning team today, and it paid off big.
JAY: Set, Joe? JOE: Yep, all set.
MARCIANO: My son, Joe, the good luck charm, paid off, too.
This trip definitely put the Hard Merchandise back in
the game and back on the board.
NARRATOR: HOT TUNA'S CATCH GIVES CAPTAIN TJ OTT A SOLID LEAD
WITH THREE FISH.
WHILE THE HARPOONER LILY AND THE HARD MERCHANDISE GET INTO
THE GAME WITH THEIR FIRST CATCHES OF THE SEASON.
JARRETT: Yeah...!
TJ: My team's awesome. We're in a good mood.
Jarrett's doing everything right.
Ryan's doing everything right.
To be on top of the leaderboard, it, it feels great.
GARON: Who's TJ think he is, catching all our tuna, man?
DAVE: Gotta make it happen. Do whatever it takes.
Right now we don't have any fish to show for this week.
But, it's not all about fishing, it's about teamwork.
You look at any sports team, look at all your team members
around you.
It's important to have good team players that play well.
Last boat out.
Maybe we'll get lucky here tonight.
