Okay, here we are in this grass bunker in this thick grass, so I'm going to use this
60 degree club here to try to get underneath the ball and at least pop it up. Now I'm probably
not going to be able to get as much spin as I would like because I'm in this thick grass,
but I still want to get some loft on the ball so I can get the ball up high, and when it
gets up high, at least it will land, and not roll so much. So I'm not looking for the most
accurate shot in the world, because the situation I'm in here doesn't lend itself to that. So
you have to be content with just getting the ball up onto the green, with a reasonable
chance to make a one putt or a two putt at worse, so with this 60-degree wedge, I'm going
to try one with the closed face to demonstrate, and just see if we can pop it out of here.
I'm going to take a steeper downswing so I can hopefully get underneath the ball, and
I'm going to make sure I follow through. Okay, so that worked out okay. I didn't get it as
high as I'd like, but I got it up over the lip, so let's try another one. I'm going to
open the face, and see; I'm going to have to aim to the left of the target now to compensate,
so let's see if I can get out of this thick grass. Okay, so that wasn't too bad of a shot.
So you have to experiment a little bit, but once again, the 60-degree wedge gives you
the ability to at least pop the ball up when you're in these closed in situations in the
thick grass. So work on it a lot, and focus on the acceleration through the ball.
