Is my massage therapist judging my leg stubble? Hi, I'm Becky Mirizio here with Carrie Bawol,
a massage therapist of five years. Massage is really all about you,but after thousands
of sessions, Carrie and her fellow massage therapists have learned some things that the
rest of us can really benefit from. So, Carrie, please share. Thanks, Becky. So first of all,
we don't care about your leg stubble. Unless you JUST shaved, everyone is going to have
some. We don't mind, so you shouldn't worry. Worry about relaxing, not leg hair. I'll try.
Good. So next, we think your perfume smells lovely. But after an hour of working in close
proximity, it can get overwhelming. As a courtesy to your therapist--and the next client who
may have allergies--we'd prefer if you went easy on the fragrances. A small thing people
probably aren't even aware of. What else? So communication is key in massage, right?
Right. That doesn't mean you need to chitchat during your massage. If talking helps you
relax, have a conversation. If there's discomfort, speak up. But don't feel obligated. Because
it's your massage, so it's what you prefer. Exactly. And the last thing your therapist
wants you to know is...be on time. Your therapist doesn't want torush you or cut your session
short--and I'm sure you don't want that either. Arriving 10 minutes early allows you relax,
unwind from your day, and sets the mood for your massage. If you're a massage therapist
who wants to share your wisdom, please post to this video or on our Facebook page. Thank
you, Carrie. And thank you for watching. Have a healthy day.
