What's better than pizza dough? How about pizza dough with only two ingredients? And
I'm going to show you how to use it in two delicious ways. In your stand mixer start
by combining your two main ingredients. Your flour and Greek yogurt. If you use a self-rising
flour that is literally all you'll need. But since I wanted to make a whole wheat crust
I am using whole wheat flour and I had to add a little bit of baking powder and salt.
Let your stand mixer run on low for a few minutes until a dough starts to form. You
can absolutely do this without a stand mixer. A hand mixer with a dough hook attachment
or even your hands will work just fine. But if you do use your hands you're going to have
to knead it for about five to ten minutes. But I promise it's worth it. Next flour your
workspace to turn out your dough. Flatten it out, fold it in and repeat. You're going
to want to do this about five times. Flip it and you'll find a nice dough ball. It's
time to roll it out into the pizza crust.
Use a rolling pin to flatten out your dough into your pizza crust. I use a French roller
because I think it's a little bit easier but any rolling pin will work. Once flattened,
if you want, you can use your fingers to make a nice edge to your crust. Transfer your pizza
dough to a large sprayed pan and then you could just top it with any pizza toppings
you prefer. A tip from me on topping your pizza: put all of your vegetables and greens
on the bottom and your cheese on the top. Not only will the cheese help to hold your
other ingredients but it's also going to cover up some of those veggies. I totally fooled
Christian! Bake it in oven, preheated to 450 degrees Fahrenheit for about ten to twelve
minutes. Remove and allow to cool slightly before slicing and devouring. Now that's pretty
cool right? An easy peasy two-ingredient pizza crust.
But what if we took it one step further to make a nice side dish to go with that pizza?
Breadsticks! Thumbs up for two-ingredients in two ways. Use the same method to create
your dough. Just like before. Transfer to a floured surface and once again turn it out.
This time instead of rolling it into a crust shape, we want to roll it out into a smaller
rectangular shape. And we don't want it to be quite as thin. Since there isn't any yeast
in this dough it isn't going to rise quite as much. So as thin as you make your breadsticks
before you bake them is about as thin as they are going to be when they come out. They will
rise just a little bit but not much.
Use a pizza cutter to cut your rectangle into eight strips. Then transfer your strips to
a sprayed baking sheet. Now you can put whatever you like on yours but on mine I brushed a
little bit of olive oil with a mixture of onion and garlic powder and some cheesy goodness
with mozzarella and parmesan. Again bake in an oven pre-heated at 450 degrees Fahrenheit
for ten to twelve minutes and of course allow to cool just a little bit before devouring.
And there you have it. My delicious healthy two-ingredient pizza dough. Comment below
and let me know if you're going to try this out and tell me what your toppings are going
to be.
