Welcome to Penn Foster TV! We get asked a lot if we accept scholarships and I wanted
to do a quick blog to answer that question. So here’s the thing, Penn Foster isn’t
eligible for title iv which is what funds government or federal scholarships or grants.
But they have regulations based on that where your students need to be full time or half
time. At Penn foster though, our students learn at their own pace, so they can go to
work, care for their children, and still learn what they need to at the same time. But because
of that we aren’t eligible for government funded money. However, in turn, our monthly
payments, we keep them low, and they’re interest free so when you’re done, you’re
done, you won’t owe any money once you’re done paying. And just because the government
doesn’t offer scholarships to Penn foster students, doesn’t mean that you can’t
find private scholarships or money funded from another source. So with the blog I wanted
to talk a little bit about that. And the big tip to find a private scholarship would be:
Be specific to your situation and ill give you an example. If you go on Google and search
the word scholarship, you’re likely to get a ton of results that aren’t going to do
you any good: scholarship search engines or scholarships that you just aren’t eligible
for. But if you’re specific to what you are and your situation, and if you search
that way, for example, let’s say I am a single parent from Arkansas – If you search
on Google “Single Parent” or “single mom” “from Arkansas” you’re likely
to find the Arkansas Single Parent scholarship fund. Do you see what I did there? You have
to get really specific to what you have going on and there is likely to be a scholarship
that you can apply for in your situation. So if you take a look below (in the description
on the blog) Im going to do my best to give you a list of places to start your scholarship
search. It’s going to take some time and research, but I really believe that there
is money out there for you. So if you could, just click subscribe to subscribe to our YouTube
channel. We do these blogs every week, and I look forward to seeing you again next week.
