Hi and welcome to Hair with Hollie with me, Hollie! Today I'm going to show you how to
recreate this fabulous fake bob, great for those with long hair that want to try the
short look but don't want to take the chop. [music]
Okay, so just section off at the sides. We've started with a side parting here which is
good because it takes the density out of one of the sides of the head. So I'm going to
section this off just over the ear and then just do the exact same thing at the other
side, sectioning all of the hair before the ear.
So you just want to take the desity out of the hair.
[inaudible] So with the back of the hair just take about,
depending on the thickness of your hair, about a two inch section at the top and section
that off again, last one.
And then with the remaining hair you're going to want to get rid of all of this. So what
we're going to do is we're going to plat it because it's quite thick hair. So just work
in quite a normal plat. [music]
Now it's just all laying down the lines of the hair and pop and little band in the bottom
and then just wrap around the head so its really flat and then we're just going to pin
this in place. This doesn't have to be too neat because you're not going to see it.
[music] So once you have the majority of your hair
pinned back, it's time now to work on the sections you've pinned up. So just curl the
rest of the hair using a tongs or GHD, whatever you want because hair with a bit of a curl
in it is easier, it disguises any lumps and bumps easier than blown straight hair, just
to give a bit of movement. So once you've finished curling the back section just do
the side sections too. [music]
Okay, so once you're happy with the curls and you leave them to cool for a while, I'm
just pushing out so you can see you've got nice fancy waves and it helps to go around
your knots as well. So we're going to pop a little bit of volume in at the roots. So
I'm just going to back comb just from about two inches down into the root just to give
us a bit of body at the back. And you can see we've got a nice tassled appearance here,
quite a lot of volume, nice bit of body at the top so you don't really notice the plat
underneath. So now we're just going to pin section by section of quite loosely so if
you have long hair it's a good idea to take the curl kind of like, you know, near enough
to the bottom, twist it and pin it up.
So just keep twisting and pinning trying to show off the shorter lines of the hair by
twisting middle sections. There we go. So you can see our little bob is starting to
take shape and just keep going all at the back section and we'll come to the sides in
a minute.
So now the backs done, I'm going to work on the sides of the hair. Again, pop it in just
a little bit of back comb at the roots just to get a bit of umph and brush it out so it's
still nice and soft. And then just continue pinning in place.
Now just working on the last sections here, so again, a little bit of back comb just at
the roots to give us a bit of volume and then work with the curl to pin in place. So, we've
worked with the side parting here so it's nice because you can sweep it across the face
making it quite a romantic look. Okay, so once you have half your hand opened up we're
going to finish off the whole look with a good lob of hairspray, trying to get it nice
and sleek at the top.
So there you have it guys, a gorgeous bob, no cutting required. Don't forget to tune
in next week when I'll be doing a gorgeous festive hairstyle in time for the Christmas
season. Bye! [music]
