A lot of times, people will see the words
"Christianity" and "sin"
in the very same sentence. You know, I think
for many people that would imply that Christianity and maybe
your whole relation to God is all about God watching
what you do wrong. Looking for the
sins you commit that kind of thing you know it really it's not set up that way at
all. First of all,
the word sin actually it has its origin
a long time ago in archery when you
when you shot an arrow and you missed, well,
that miss is called a sin. Jesus
he didn't give the wonderful Sermon on the Mount
to help us feel more guilty just to identify what we do wrong
No, we use the Beatitudes, maybe the Ten Commandments
to help us understand what we're doing right.
You know, think of everyone of your thoughts each day as
like an arrow -- sometimes they're right on target they
they express that nature and presence of God
and sometimes they miss sometimes they miss but you know what to focus on the
misses
that's not Christianity. It's to
focus on what you do right. Mary Baker Eddy,
she once said "the arrow that doth wound the dove
darts not from those who watch and love"
so let's watch how our thoughts
express the love of God. If
one out of 10 of your thoughts, your arrows, reflect God's love
Oh, rejoice, rejoice you hit the target
and the more you rejoice on the hits turns out the more targets you end up
hitting.
