Hey guys, welcome back to my channel, today I am just going to experiment with the Oxblood
lip which is really popular right now. It's very on trend, if you pay attention to that.
And it's really a nice pretty look that a lot of different skin tones can pull off,
you can always choose a lighter color if you want.
For the eyes, I just chose to do something a little more natural and really matte so
I will have another more natural lip option included in case you want to tone this look
down a bit. If you want to see how I got this look, definitely please keep watching!
Ok, guys so to start I am just gonna lay down my transition color. For that I am using "Brown
Script" as usual and I am just going to lay that down right in the crease, sort of blending
it upwards to really smoke it out. I have already down foundation, highlight and contour
and I have already prepped my lids with an eye primer. I used LORAC Behind the Scenes
Primer for that.
Now using one of my favorite eyeshadow brushes I am going to pack the color I used in my
crease, "Brown Script" right onto my lids. I am using the E60 by Sigma because it really
does a wonderful job of packing on color. We are picking up the "Brown Script" and packing
it on to give this really pretty burnt sienna color. I heard that "Brown Script" was going
to be discontinued, and it made me kind of sad. i hope it's not true! If anyone knows
for sure please let me know so that I can stock up!
Now I am going to go in with a different color by MAC as well--"Deep Damson"--it's a deep
sort of burgundy color, and I am adding this to give my eyes some added definition. I am
going in with a pencil brush, and I am going to place the color very precisely where I
want it and blend it out. I am focusing the color in my crease first.
To find my crease, because my eyes are hooded, I make a surprised face and the skin gets
really taut. Then I know where to place the color, right where my crease would hit. Just
like that.
You really don't need too much because this is a very pigmented eyeshadow. To blend this
color out I am going to go in with a tapered blending brush, and it's one of the more common
type of blending brushes that you see out there--very similar to the E25 by Sigma. This
one is a little more firm which makes it great for this, since we are working in a small
area.
Just blend and blend until it looks seamless. You will see that your crease is really defined
and your lids look more prominent which it what we are going for. This is why we lay
down transition colors, to make colors we apply directly to the crease blend more seamlessly.
Using the same brush I used to smoke out "Deep Damson" to my crease I am going to pack that
color onto the outer V of my eye. Just like that, just a little bit.
Now, just to do some extra blending and make everything as seamless as possible, I have
picked up my "Brown Script" and using a fluffy blending brush I am blending over the "Deep
Damson" I applied directly in my crease.
Ok, now I have the shadows perfectly the way I want it, I am going to apply my favorite
black liner to my waterline and tightline--the "L'Oreal liquid pencil eyeliner" in black.
Because I want a smoky look on the bottom lash line, I am taking my "Deep Damson" shadow
and running it along my lower lashline with a smudge brush, the E21 from my "Sigma Performance
Eye Kit". I am smoking things out along the outer corner of my lower lash line for extra
definition and a sultry edge.
To line my eyes, I am going to use a gel liner for a very matte finish. For that I am going
to use my go to liner brush, which happens to be a lip brush...I feel like this works
much better, is much easier to control, is more precise and versatile, and works really
well for people who are newer to gel liners and haven't mastered the application yet.
I start with a very simple flick on the outer corner, and then I connect it to my upper
lash line in the center of my eye. I am not dragging it into my inner corner today. Then
I fill everything in.
Now that I am all done with liner I am going to apply my lashes--my all time faves are
the "Red Cherry WSP"--
Hey guys, I applied my lashes off camera so that's all done! Because this is an earth
toned "matte eyeshadow look" there are a lot of different lip options. If for everyday
I would wear this with a gloss, but it works beautifully with this oxblood lip color trend
that's going around now.
I will show you the gloss first, it's the "Tarte Maracuja" liquid lipstick in the shade
Awe, and I think it has been discontinued, but it is such a basic nude color that it
would be easy to dupe.
I just apply a little bit to the lips and I don't use a liner for this. With just a
touch of that gloss, I feel like the look is very put together and ready to go! I would
wear this for everyday.
The oxblood lipstick is called "Java Jolt" it is a L'Oreal Infallible lipstick. Then
because I really like this to be more of a matte finish, I am going to go over it with
this liquid lipstick by NYC Color after I let it set for a little bit. It is called
"goddess" and it is the same exact color as the infallible lipstick but with a completely
matte finish.
If I feel like I want a little more JOODJ I add a highlight on the inner corner of my
eye along the lower lash line. I usually reach for "Coppering" by MAC for this look.
So that's it, that is the finished look. I hope you guys enjoyed! If you wanna see more
looks like this, then definitely like and subscribe and if you really love this video
then feel free to favorite and share! I will have a blog post detailing everything I used,
so if you are interested in that check it out I will have the link down below.
And I will see you guys next time, thank you so much for watching! Love you, bye
