>>Angel: Where's?
Wait.
[Music]
Joe, I know, I'll call Joe.
[ Music and Silence ]
No.
[ Background Noise ]
Hey Janice.
>>Janice: Yeah?
>> Angel: Do you know where Joe is?
>>Janice: Joe's, today's Monday, he's working from home.
He's tele-working today.
>> Angel: He's tele-working?
>>Janice: Tele-working.
>> Angel: What's tele-working?
>>Janice: Tele-working is when you get the opportunity to from home.
>> Angel: Work from home?
>>Janice: Yeah.
>> Angel: I've got to learn more about this tele-working.
>>Janice: Yeah.
[ Laughing and Background Noise]
>> Angel: Kimberly.
>>Kimberly: Oh, hello.
>> Angel: Hi, I want to talk about tele-working.
>>Kimberly: Oh sure.
>> Angel: Tell me a little bit about tele-working.
Do I qualify for tele-working?
>>Kimberly: You might be a good candidate for tele-work.
Tell me a little bit about what you do.
>> Angel: Well, I'm one of the attorney's and I work, primarily, alone,
I don't have any telephone calls, and I prepare documents.
Mostly, my supervisor is on email with me.
>>Kimberly: Well, it does sound like you would be a good candidate.
Let's take a look at our staffing though.
You know, sometimes to start the tele-work program,
it's a good idea to start as an adhoc tele-worker.
>> Angel: You know, I wouldn't want to work at home all the time and have to.
It's more that I have things come up at home, that I think it would be good
to be, for me to be at home to work.
>>Kimberly: You know, I also, occasionally, have to work from home, and it's nice,
once in the blue moon, to be able to do that.
>> Angel: Sure, it would be convenient.
We have internet service, how do I know what requirements I have to have,
in order to be able to work from home?
>>Kimberly: Well, probably one of the best ways to start is to take a look, on Insight,
at the tele-work webpage's, actually, with E6500's that we all have on our desk,
it provides us the capability to undock them, pretty easily.
I would recommend that you test and talk to the IT people, though,
before your first day of tele-work.
There's a sample tele-work agreement on Insight, and what I'd like you to do,
is to read it carefully, fill it out, and then we'll talk some more.
You'll see that it explains about your voluntary participation in tele-work,
about laying out a work schedule or identifying this as adhoc, tele- work agreement.
>> Angel: Which will be just sometimes, right?
>>Kimberly: That's right, sometimes.
It also covers you in the event that we have unscheduled tele- work,
let's say for weather or an emergency.
>> Angel: Sure.
>>Kimberly: You can work at home, on those days, and then, we'll both discuss it
and we'll sign the tele-work agreement, once we have it completed.
>> Angel: That sounds like a plan.
>>Kimberly: Okay, very good.
>> Angel: Thank you.
>>Kimberly: You bet.

>> Angel: Ben, I'm interested in tele-working.
Tell me what I need to know?
My supervisors all for it, but I have some questions about equipment.
>>Ben: Okay.
Well, let's start off with what you actually need in order to tele-work.
We have a VTN form, thanks Mr. Matthews, here's our VTN Agreement.
This, on here, states that you have to fill it out completely,
have a signed tele-work agreement, you have to have functioning broadband,
high- speed internet, have some sort of firewall protection, for your home network.
Once you get that all filled out, and forward to me, and I'll create your VTN account.
Once you get that information returned to Mr. Matthews,
he will insure that you have the proper training for a VTN and how to use your laptop at home.
>> Angel: Well, there are a lot of steps, but it sounds like I have a lot of help
to support tele-working, and I appreciate that.
>>Ben: You do.
You have us, you have your local IT Specialist, you have the Help Desk,
and then you have the nationwide Help Desk, so, yes, you have plenty of support.
>> Angel: I'm going to take this list home right now and make sure that I have the equipment,
thank you very much for explaining how to tele-work.
>>Ben: Okay.
>>[Inaudible]
>>Ben: Happy Tele-working.

I don't know.
>>You can only print to your office.
You can't print to your local computer.
