>> RICH PETERSEN: I think we've earned this recognition because of the outstanding work
that's done here day in and day out at Maine Medical Center.
The U.S. News and World Report recognition is the gold standard. I think it's fair
to say it's the most comprehensive evaluation on performance and reputation of hospitals
and medical centers. And so, from that perspective, it's at the top of the heap. No question about it.
and medical centers. And so, from that perspective, it's at the top of the heap. No question about it.
Our mission has always been quite clear. It's been in place for some time, about caring
for the communities that we serve, educating tomorrow's caregivers, and researching new
ways to provide and care. And in addition, the idea of us wanting to be the healthiest
state in the nation. You can't accomplish those types of things unless you're in fact hitting
targets and providing outstanding medical care, which again, going back to U.S. News
and World Report, it's basically stating to us, we're on the right track.
>>Surgeon: On the deployment, you want to do another injection?
>> RICH: From the community's perspective, I would hope that it would be a validation,
kind of the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. That I think we have a really strong brand
and I think that people know we do the very best. And I think they know we have the very
best employees here at Maine Medical Center.
>>Nurse: Stay nice and close to that walker.
>>RICH: The message for employees is just keep on doing the outstanding work that you're
doing today. And this is the type of thing that we need to be focusing on. This is about
doing the very best for our patients and day in and day out, that work is being done here.
I'm so very proud of being part of this organization and being an employee of Maine
Medical Center with all of our employees.
>>Dr. Weigel: Stay well. Take care.
