With how many are we?
I'm counting about a hundred people, despite the fact that all train traffic from the northern Netherlands have been canceled.
Half southern Netherlands couldn't make it.
And because of the weather their parents didn't feel like driving them here.
Still I'm happy about the amount of people showing up.
(asks for the microphone) Guynio, you're loud enough.
PARTY!
What do you think's rad about My Little Pony?
Yeah... that's always the hardest question.
It's a good show. The story goes on and the characters are all very likeable.
Yeah, of course I find it a good show. I have been a fan of cartoons my whole life.
And I think it's one of the best Western animations in the latest 10-15 years.
What brought you here?
Actually it started with the show itself. I was just fooling around on the internet and suddenly I saw ponies appearing everywhere.
And I was like "What the buck is this?" and nobody could really explain it. They told me to just start watching the show, I told them "Okay, sure!"
So I went to watch the first episode on Youtube...
That was at 10 pm, and I continued watching until 3 am. So I've basically seen almost every episode consecutively and thought to myself "Jeez, why is this show so good!?"
How did you find out?
Well, it all started with my best friend who regularly watched My Little Pony. At first I didn't know what to think of it, but you can't judge things you haven't seen yet.
So I thought I'd give it a shot, and the first episode was already better than expected. Then you're at two episodes, three episodes, and before you know you've been through the whole series.
Have you been to previous brony meets?
Yes, I've managed to attend to every meet so far. Plus another one in Belgium.
And I'm the only one in the Dutch Brony community who's been to England for Fushicon for Andrea Libman, the voice actor behind Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, who also went there.
I went to the previous (third) meet. I didn't attend to the first and second because I didn't know about the existence of the Dutch Brony community back then.
The previous meet was in September, I think. (sic: December)
So I went there and thought "wow, these are really the best people I've ever met!"
...
I am autistic and normally wouldn't be capable of doing this, and cause of all the tension I could turn overly exhausted. But thanks to this community giving me lots of vitality I'm totally okay with...
...being here, and know that I can do it just because they are all so loving and tolerating. They really care about everybody who'd like to be a part of them.
What do you think about the community?
Oh, it's amazing! Half of the fun comes from the show, but the other half comes from within the community.
Everyone does something, fanfics are being made, PMVs, fanart, and others make plushies. It's a very close community, everyone is being nice to each other and we always have lots of fun.
The community is very cozy, all the people are friendlier than I have ever seen. Everyone is being very sociable, even with total strangers! Give eachother a hug, have a party, ain't that fun?
And do you plan on attending next time?
Well, I suppose so. Everything was properly organised, the people are very sociable and there's much to do and to see. I think I'll be there.
Brohoof!
