So I'm going to show you how to make a vase, using extruded hollow tubes, and you can make
it with several compartments, and they can point off in different directions so that
you can make a really cool flower arrangement. Now I am going to be using the extruder for
this project, so first I'm going to have to prepare my clay for the extruder. An extruder
is like a giant Play Doh factory, it will squeeze out long pieces of very uniform clay.
Mine has a four inch round shaft. So I'm going to cut a piece of clay. And then I'm going
to shape this to be roughly the shape of that barrel. So first I'm going to take it and
I'm going to hit the corners on the table to round them out a little bit. And then I'm
just going to pat this out to make it a little bit longer. I want this tube to be smaller
than the barrel of the extruder so that it slips in there really easily. Now once I've
got my clay prepared for the extruder, I can actually go over there and start making my
pieces.
