So, when it comes to hairstyles for the preppy look, like everything else, it wants to be
neat, it wants to be healthy, it wants to look beautiful, but it should be very simple.
In generally, most people who go for a preppy look straighten their hair. I have a straightener
right here, and the idea is that it's more polished, it reflects more light when it's
long. This is the straightener, and you should really, you know you can go get one of these,
they're twenty bucks, and it really just adds a lot of polish to your look, especially if
you have like a coarse, wavy hair. Being preppy isn't really about sort of expressing any
sort of wild thing. It's very reserved, it's very casual, it's very simple, is maybe the
best way to put it. And so if you want to adorn your hair at all, the best thing to
do is a headband, that's the classic preppy staple, it could be a wide band or thin band,
I have one with a pattern here, and a plain one up here. This is one of the few places
where you can actually really add some color to the preppy wardrobe, or add a pattern.
I have two scarves here, that you could also tie as headbands. One has an anchor pattern,
nautical themes, and nautical patterns are very popular in preppy dressing styles. And
I have a nicer scarf here. If you are going to do a scarf, it should be a very nice one,
a quality scarf that you can really tie back, the reference point here is sailing on a yacht
somewhere, and having your hair back for that. If it's not going to be in a headband, it
could be in a ponytail, but it should be very, very simple. It shouldn't look like you spent
a lot of time doing it, but at the same time it should look really good.
