Research on a creature of habit
How do you use your computer?
I work on a Mac, my wife uses a PC.
Windows
XP
Mainly Windows, or rather Office
On Linux or Windows 7
Are you happy with your operating system?
Well, sometimes it's got some quirks
So-so
I'm not actually satisfied…
No, not really, it's just the one we all have at the moment
An OS is pretty expensive for what it does for me…
Starting up always takes so long!
What do you think about an OS that's free and always up to date…
and has no viruses?
That would be best, ideal…
That would be awesome, there must be a catch…
That'd be great of course…
I don't think there's such a thing,
like them giving something away for free.
I'd sure take that,
that would be fun.
I'd like to show how this all looks in detail.
Can you imagine installing this at home?
Well it's not exactly the same,
but it's not so much different, either.
Yes, actually I do…
I can have both, they sure don't harm each other.
Yes, absolutely.
I'll be thinking about it,
because it's something new, not the one everybody knows…
I think it's a pretty good thing…
I'd sure not say no…
Not switching certainly has something to do with lazyness…
That was Linux.
How did you like it?
The presentation on the screen is very attractive, it's easy to get used to it, and get working.
It's as expected. There's everything I need…
Yes, I think it's cool.
It's neat, very easy…
and I think it's so open you can use all the unlimited potential of the internet.
I think it's very appealing.
I'm impressed, I figure it's more like Mac OSX than maybe XP.
It looks gorgeous.
To me it seems very friendly
because for Microsoft you sure don't have to do any fund-raising…
That's actually brilliant…
Great, yes, that's convincing…
The quality is probably better, too,
because they have an interest in doing it as good as as possible.
It's constantly improved by users, without a commercial background.
Actually it's really pleasant.
Doesn't feel strange to me,
not like something entirely new, forcing you to relearn everything.
To me things are arranged clearer here.
The first impression's great, and the philosophy sounds very good indeed.
That seems much easier…
Really tidy…
it's so compact,
and the updates, that you can just download…
and you don't have to buy those expensive new programs just in order to be up to date.
It seems to be really fast…
the idea of people creating and improving this out of enthusiasm is so beautiful,
so nobody makes a huge amount of money from us.
Very neat.
It sure is great that it's free.
The software being freely available is awesome.
The whole idea is impressive for sure,
the OS runs stable and fast.
I like the idea of many people developing it together,
it's like an open platform, and it's safe from viruses, too,
you can get involved, and if you don't like something you can actually go change it.
that you can download the software you like, you don't have to just take what's there.
Do you feel the freedom?
Linux fits you!
