So your physical facilities are your environment. They're the people in the environment; they're
you; they're your team; they're even your customers. The customer flow. How does the
customer flow through your business. So the key aim is for your customers and staff to
have an exceptional experience whenever they're in or on your business premises -- and I say
that because even job sites are your business premises.
I'm telling you, I hear about job sites from a contractor, for example, saying "You wouldn't
believe the other trades. It's just pathetic. It's horrible." So that's not a good customer
flow system. Who's your customer? The general; the general comes in and he's screaming about
all the trades being such a mess, but your company isn't such a mess. But the others
are. So your customer isn't having a very good experience now. Not that there's a whole
lot you can do about that, but you certainly can be a leader in keeping your area, your
discipline very tidy. When the general's complaining about everybody, you can just say to the general,
"What can we do to improve?" and then the general looks at you through different eyes
and says, "Oh, no, no, your operation is great."
Okay, so how do you present yourself? This could be because you're a very small shop
and you're the one who's going out there and meeting with the customers. It could also
be you as a salesperson. It can be you as the ambassador for your company in the community.
How mindful are you of the mood you're in when speaking to your customers and your prospective
customers?
Here's a trick that I don't have in here, and if you find that people are coming to
your door and you're frustrated or something like that, it takes conscious thought. It's
like "Stop... do this, then move forward." So it takes conscious thought about it, and
I'm not there yet 100% of the time. But just place your hand on your chest in your heart
chakra area. Just place your hand on your chest, and that just brings you down to being
conscious about "Okay, I'm going to be patient. This is something I want or whatever. I'm
going to be patient."
