Hi, this is Dave for Expert Village. Today we are going to make white bean soup with
hamhocks and cornbread. Not necessarily required for this recipe but something that I like
to add for a little flavor is to finely chop onions. So here is how we are going to that
you go ahead and leave the root attached here, it will hold the onion together go ahead and
make slices this direction. You want this finely minced we are going to go ahead and
put this in and it's going to it's take a little bit longer when you do the onion this
way but the flavor is going to be good. Go ahead and get your onion prepared I just use
about a half of yellow onion or even a white onion will be fine. I'll probably stay away
from the sweet onions you just want to have this real savory. Just cut that up real fine
just like that, that will be actually enough right there and we are going to get our pot
pull that right back around the burner. You can see it's already getting nice and not
so much thick but it has a little bit more body to it and just go ahead and put your
onions in.
