The North Oakville communities include, Joshua Creek, Wedgewood Creek,
River Oaks, Westmount, West Oak Trails, and Bronte Creek. Some people
would consider Glen Abbey as North Oakville as well. The newer
communities, are Joshua Creek, Bronte Creek, and Westmount. To tell the
different ages of communities, you will see varying tree lines. The newer
communities will have smaller lot sizes, and of course the trees are not as
mature.
Oakville is mainly residential, well developed, well designed
neighborhoods, catering mainly to families. The newer design is
showcasing the more open concept of the main floor. You will see kitchens,
breakfast areas, and family rooms that are combined.
North Oakville has the most walk paths and exercise trails. You will
also find several manmade ponds decorating and adding to the landscape.
North Oakville has a very conscientious design keeping young families in
mind, most of the communities have, as you can see it here, pool pads,
splashing pads, and playgrounds for the kids, and usually, it hooks up to
the hiking trails, so you can commute from your home, via trails. The
trails are made for hiking, walking your kids, walking your dogs, or just
to go for a stroll. Some of the trails you can bike, or even, some of them
are maintained better, so you can rollerblade.
Being a newer community, many areas are still under development in North
Oakville. Due to a growing population, North Oakville is of course still
developing. They are building sports centers, police stations, the new
hospital, lots of schools, and other infrastructure like roadwork widening
projects, and of course, new communities are still popping up, just like
that.
There is no better place but Oakville. But right now we still have great
farm lands, that are so soothing to drive, just out of the city. The newer
part of River Oaks being developed is the uptown part of North Oakville.
That means it is attracting higher density development and more shopping.
Oak Park has become the hub of shopping, of course the Oakville Place is
only a few minutes away, and don't forget you can make it down, just in
twelve minutes to downtown Oakville. And of course, almost everywhere in
North Oakville, you can find a cold beer. There are plenty of restaurants.
Cheers!
