Iran has passed the bill allowing men to marry
their adopted daughters sounds kinda look alike a *** Allen movie or maybe
more like *** Allen's actual life
the Guardian is reporting about this Louis parliamentarians in Iran have
passed a bill
to protect the rights of children which includes a clause
that allows a man to marry his adopted daughter
as young as 13 years I've age
activists are understandably upset about this they say that it's opening up the
door for a family caretaker
to Mary an adopted child if the court rules
its in the interest above the individual child Iran's Guardian Council which is a
body of clerics in jurists
which vets all parliamentary bills before the constitution and the Islamic
law
as yet issue verdict on this we know that this is a real problem as many as
forty two thousand children aged 10 to 14
were married in 2010 according to the Iranian use website
tab knack at least seventy five children
under the age of 10 were married into Iran
alone I'm when you think about this Louis Louis is that of course from Iran
this is a serious problem we've covered it happening in Qatar
we've happen covered it in in any number of countries and
while there is insistence that this is not because
%uh Muslim doctrine it seems to be
though the factor that links all these instances
right I I don't like seeing these archaic practices I mean it's incredible
that this day in age
anyone thinks that it could be in the best interest
a 13-year-old to get married I
it's it's it's mind-blowing but II hope help us get squashed
somehow yeah and it's a good thing that there's no gay people in Iran at least
his mommy damn it in a jar told us because that would really be a problem
the child marriage is not so much to your own to your own daughter
your own adopted daughter that is but but if they were gay people we'd really
be in trouble
right right but nine-year-olds can get married that's fine
