Hello, everyone! Today I would like to share with you some GREAT news. Something even more
exciting than Christmas Sets. This is especially a great news for Asian girls and Hong Kong
girls. Look at what I have got in my hands- NAKED 3! It's the Naked 3 which everyone has
been waiting for! I finally got my hands on it! Many bloggers, esp those from the US have
already done many reviews, swatches and even tutorials on Naked 3 but the problem remains-
does Naked 3 suit Asians? Does Naked 3 suit our yellowish skin tone well?
It is an iron pencil case and on the spine,
you can see the words "Urban Decay". There is also an Eyeshadow Primer Potion Sample
don't think the sample is any good at all. I know that the primer potion used to come
in the form of a tube. But now it looks like this >ww< It was said that you could keep
it for 6 months after you start using it. However, it's really INCONVENIENT to keep
or carry around with you. I prefer the old one because I could screw the cover tight
after using it and it's easier to store the potion in mint condition. But since it's only
an sample and we are not buying Naked 3 for the primer potion, so it doesn't really matter.
Let's check out the Naked 3 palette instead. There are altogether 12 colors in Naked 3.
If you have checked out the blogs of other bloggers and take a look at the Naked 3 swatch,
you will probably know that there is a difference between Naked 1, 2 and 3. Naked 1 and 2 have
more bronze colors and Naked 3 has what the other bloggers called "rosy gold" and they
describe Naked 3 colors as "romantic". But does these romantic rosy gold colors from
Naked 3 work on Asians? Can Asian skin tone take Naked 3 well? What would become of us
when we put on Naked 3? Let's find out more by taking a look at the swatch.
Let's start with the first color. 1st Color- STRANGE Just taking a small amount with my
fingertip, you can already see the matte white color. The matte whit color works well when
you want to highlight your eyebrows and the inner corners of your eyes. It may look too
white on my arm right now but when you apply it, it looks perfectly fine. 2nd color- DUST.
It is a shimmery rosy color. But you have to be very careful when you use this color
as it has a lot of shimmer, otherwise there would be a lot of chunky shimmer underneath
your eyes after applying it. The color is really beautiful but application-wise, it
could be difficult to handle. 3rd color- BURNOUT. I quite like this color. I think it looks
great when you put it on the inner corner of your eyelid. Burnout looks like this but
probably because I am quite tanned, that's why you can't see it clearly on my hand. Burnout
actually looks really wonderful on the eyes. 4th color- LIMIT. It is actually a pale matte
color which is close to your skin tone. This color looks great on your crease as it would
help your crease pop out more. 5th color- Buzz. It looks like this on my hand. (* It's
actually a crow cawing* LOL) This color looks really nice on western bloggers with fair
skins but how does it look on us as Asians? Let's find this out later! 6th color- TRICK.
I think this color is quite different from the rest of the palette. TRICK is more of
a gold metallic color. I quite like it coz I think it will look good on Asians. The 6
colors after TRICK are rather darker. 7th Color- NOONER. It is a more matte and taupe
tone. It's great for transitional color. Let me clean my fingers first. 8th Color- LIAR.
Liar, someone who lies. This is also another beautiful color which Asians should have no
problem with. 9th Color- FACTORY. It is a metallic brown color. 10th color- MUGSHOT.
It is a greyer toner, not as brown as FACTORY. It is a really gorgeous color, should be great
if you use it to do a smoky eye effect. 11th color- DARKSIDE. 12th color- BLACKHEART. Many
foreign bloggers LOVE this color. This color is very dark brown with red glitter in it.
Is it beautiful? I think it is. But I think you have to be very careful when applying
this color, coz Urban Decay is famous for its good quality and if you take too much
BLACKHEART and apply it to your eyes, the color could get stuck there and be difficult
to blend it out. So... here is the Swatch for Naked 3 on Asian skin tone. What's next
is a Makeup Tutorial with Naked 3... then we could see for ourselves whether Naked 3
would be the right match for us! So I have removed the makeup for one of my
eyes and I would now apply eye makeup with Naked 3. First, I would use the Eyeshadow
Primer Potion which is a free sample given along with Naked 3. The potion is like a base
for the eye makeup. So why did I make a face just now? That's because the texture of the
primer potion is SO THICK that it was almost impossible for me to obtain it from the package.
I was being really harsh to my eye as I was trying so hard to apply the potion to my eyelid.
I really don't understand what's wrong with this potion or Urban Decay. The normal Urban
Decay primer potion shouldn't be that thick or dry. The reason why I apply potion is to
make the color stands out more and prevent the makeup from smudging. Now I would use
the 3rd color BURNOUT to apply to the inner corner of the eyelid. The color BURNOUT is
a very healthy rosy color which looks great on Asian skin tone. Then I use the 10th color
FACTORY on the outer corner of my eyelid. I actually watched many reviews or videos
made by other bloggers and BURNOUT and FACTORY turn out to their fav colors. When you watch
both my video and their videos, you can then do a comparison and tell the difference of
Naked 3 on fairer Caucasian skin tone and more yellowish Asian skin tone. Next, I am
going to use 7th color NOONER on my crease. Many bloggers would use NOONER to define the
crease. NOONER is actually quite a natural color which is quite easy to use. Use a fluffy
brush to blend the color out nicely. Then, use 1st color- STRANGE to highlight the brows.
I took a lot of STRANGE on my finger but you don't have to worry as it would turn out to
be okay. It might look too ghostly white but when you blend the color out evenly, the effect
would turn out to be okay. Next, use 2nd color- DUST on the center of my eyelid. DUST has
a lot of shimmer so when you use it remember to tap your brush a bit before you apply it
to your eyelid. I am using DUST to bring more light to my eye and I use it to blend out
the colors BURNOUT and FACTORY. Then, apply my 3CE eyeliner in brown color (#8 Les Miserables)
to fill in the gaps between my lashes. When I release my hand, you would see that the
brown eyeliner couldn't really be seen on the eyelid. That's why I don't suggest using
brown eyeliner with Naked 3. The colors of the Naked 3 palette are too close to skin
tone and if you use brown eyeliner, it's really difficult to define the eyeliner. So I am
using CLIO liquid eyeliner Kill Black in black color to make my makeup pops out more. I am
going to draw a thicker liner with the CLIO eyeliner on the same eye as this eye is smaller
than the other one. To make them both look the same, I would have to add a thicker eyeliner
on the smaller one. The colors of Naked 3 are actually quite natural. Then I am using
11th color- DARKSIDE on my lower waterline. Then I use Missha Shimmer Stick for my inner
corner of my eye. It's a pearly white color. I really wanted to use colors from Naked 3
only to complete my eye makeup but I really can't find any similar color and STRANGE is
too matte for my liking. That's why I cheat a bit by using Missha. You probably can see
that using DARKSIDE for my lower waterline doesn't really work, that's why I cheat again
by using 3CEeyeliner in brown color. Lastly, I use Covergirl Lastblastvolume mascara for
my eyelashes. I don't plan to use any falsies this time because 1) I don't really like falsies
2) if I use the falsies, it would probably block you from seeing the colors of Naked
3 on my eyes That's why I plan to stick to mascara only. Now I would zoom in and so everyone
can see how I use Naked 3 for a very natural look.
Apart from skin tone, another reason why the makeup look with Naked 3 on Caucasian bloggers
would look different on us is because of the color of their eyes. When I did my makeup
just now, I just put on my usual contact lens without any color. Now the left eye has put
on Bausch + Lomb Lacelle Color Con in Cool Grey color. That's how the whole look would
turn out to be if I put on a grey color con with naked 3. I don't know whether this makeup
look looks better or worse with a grey color con. What do you think? Better or worse? I
don't really know. On this side, I have just put on a normal con without any color. I am
now going to take it out and replace it with a lighter brown color con. This brown color
con is from Fresh Kon Winsome Brown. So what do you think? Grey or Brown looks better with
Naked 3? Or even a normal transparent color con would do? I do this experiment with all
these color cons is to show you guys how Naked 3 would look on Asian skin tone with different
eye colors. I think the Grey one looks better on camera but in person, it probably doesn't
look natural enough. So this is my brainchild- my review, swatch and makeup tutorial on Naked
3. Bye bye! So here we come to the final part of the video- Afterthought. Actually I had
a great time filming Naked 3. I spent quite some time preparing for this video, e.g. watching
the tutorial videos and swatches of other bloggers to get some inspirations and to brainstorm
for ideas. So now I am going to tell you guys how I bought my Naked 3. I actually missed
the first round of Naked 3 sale since I hesitated. I knew about the launch of Naked 3 because
I had registered the Urban Decay email and they would alert me when they launched Naked
3. I knew the Naked 3 was gone in a snap when it was first launched. So I checked my email
every day since then and when I got the email notifying me about 2nd launch of Naked 3,
I immediately pressed the button and go for it. Then since I don't live in the US, I need
to register an account with MyUS.com. MyUS.com is actually a company which provides you with
an US shipping address. So when you buy things online from US companies, you can use the
US address which MyUS.com provides you with. Say for example, Urban Decay would now ship
my parcel to my US address given by MyUS.com which is in Florida and there would be staff
to help you take care of the package, then go to your account on MyUS.com and at the
inbox section, you should see a note saying your parcel has arrived. It is actually quite
an efficient way to ship your parcels to your home country. I bought my Urban Decay stuff
on 2/12 HK time and it took around 10 days for my UD parcel to reach my Florida address
with MyUs.com. It took myUs.com less than 2 days to ship this parcel to me through DHL.
Some DHL staff would ring the bell at my place and here we go- the parcel has arrived! The
shipping fee isn't exactly cheap at all. Even up till now, I am not quite sure how myUs.com
calculate the shipping fee. There is a calculation system at MyUs.com teaching you how to calculate
the shipping fee. You need to insert how much the parcel weighs and the dimension of the
parcel. They have 2 ways of calculating the shipping fee- the weight and the dimension.
But I am not sure how it works. It wasn't until the last minute when they shipped my
parcel did I know the exact amount of my shipping fee. Besides getting Naked 3, I also bought
something else from Urban Decay- Book of Shadows IV. This Book of Shadow is SUPER HEAVY. I
really think the reason behind my expensive shipping fee is this super heavy box. With
the purchase of this BOOK, UD gave this lipstick sample for free which I could show you guys
in the next video. I also bought this eyeshadow primer potion in GREED. The total weight of
these Urban Decay stuff is 2.9 kg and the shipping fee after Christmas discount (which
is 50% off) is USD 23.xx. But this is already the discounted price and normally it would
have cost me USD46.xx to ship 2.9kg parcel to HK without the Christmas discount. The
shipping fee isn't what
you can call cheap at all. So I hope my video can help you decide whether you should buy
Naked 3 or not. I know that most of us need to either ask friends from USA or Canada for
help or use this kind of shipping service like MyUs.com if we want to buy Naked 3. Therefore
I hope my video can help you out a bit. I don't want you guys to get disappointed when
you finally receive your Naked 3 after a super long wait and costly shipping fee. I think
there are 3 types of people who shouldn't buy Naked 3. Type 1- Makeup Newbies who thought
buying Naked 3 can help create all kinds of eye makeup. The colors of Naked 3 palette
are really beautiful but they aren't enough to create all kinds of looks. Plus with our
yellowish Asian skin tone, it isn't easy to handle many of the taupe colors from Naked
3. These taupe colors could easy make makeup newbies look like they are bruised on their
eyes. Type 2- Makeup Junkies who have millions of palettes at home. As you probably have
a lot of palettes which have similar colors and can help you create the matte natural
look. So you should save yourself some money and skip naked 3. Type 3- Gals with rather
yellowish skin tone. I wouldn't suggest you buy Naked 3 because many palettes are great
and you don't have to spend HKD 400-500 or more on a palette doesn't really suit your
skin tone at all. You should find some really beautiful palettes that suit your skin tone.
Reasons for buying Naked 3: 1) Urban Decay Fans who must possess UD hottest item in this
season 2) You also have Naked 1 and 2. Naked 3 would be another great buy for your Naked
Collection 3) Curious people like myself who want to find out whether Naked 3 suits Asians
and who don't mind spending your own money to
find out the truth for everyone. These are my thoughts on Naked 3 and I hope it really helps you
all. If you guys want me to use Naked 3 to create some other looks or if there is something more you want to know about Naked
3, please don't hesitate to drop me a note. I am ready and
see you
guys next time. Bye bye! ;)
