Hey everyone! So welcome to HeyHeyBooks, my new reading channel. I've loved reading my
whole life, and watching YouTube since around 2008. And I just got into the booktubing community,
and I am really excited about this. So for my first video, and sort of an introduction,
I thought I would tell you all about my favorite books. I'd say my favorite book is probably
Wuthering Heights. I've read it about four or five times, and seen many many movie versions.
I first read it around Junior year of high school, after watching the MTV movie version,
which is completely different. If you haven't read it, it's very dark and twisty, full of
romance, good and bad. It's set in the moors of England, and is just a really beautiful
book. It's definitely not for everyone, but if you like the surreal and Romantic genre
of the 1800s, I think you would definitely like it. Another favorite is, of course, Harry
Potter. My fourth grade class read it together, and after that my whole family has read each
book after they came out. And I'm definitely a huge fan, I've seen all the movies, I own
the extra books, and a time turner, and a wand, and etc etc. And if you're curious,
I am a Hufflepuff... Ravenclaw... Ravenpuff hahaha. A recent favorite is Wildwood by Colin
Meloy, who is the lead singer of The Decemberists, who is also illustrated by his lovely wife,
Carson Ellis. It's set in an alternate version of Portland Oregon, and it involves a mythology
that was created by the husband and wife in their walks in the huge Forest Park in Portland.
It's very similar to Meloy's lyric writing for the band, so if you like their music,
you should definitely check this out. This copy I bought signed from Powell's in Portland
Oregon. I actually went to college in Portland, and the Decemberists is one of my absolute
favorite bands, and I was actually able to see them live in Pioneer Square a couple of
years ago, so this book is definitely really meaningful to me, and I absolutely adore it.
One of my favorite authors is definitely Jane Austen. This beautiful copy of all of her
novels was a birthday gift to me, and I really adore it, it's so beautiful. I'd say my favorite
aside from Pride & Prejudice and Sense & Sensibility would probably be Persuasion, or Northanger
Abbey. Mansfield Park and Emma seemed a little bit long and boring to me, and just a tad
bit more predictable than the other novels were. But anyway, I really do love Jane Austen,
and I've done a lot of reading about her and her life, as well as the Bronte sisters, and
I find them all really interesting. And last but not least, is The Fault in Our Stars by
John Green. I am totally a nerdfighter, and absolutely love this book. There's nothing
I can say that hasn't already been said about it. It's happy and sad and incredibly funny
and romantic and it makes you feel all of the feels. You just need to read it, okay?
Trust me. As you can see, this was a signed copy. I was lucky enough to find a purple
J-scribble and a Hanklerfish, yeah! I found it at my local Fred Meyer's and gave my pre-ordered
copy to my best friend who is also a fan of John Green. Oh my God, this is so heavy! So
there you have it, my favorite books, I'll be doing book reviews, book hauls, and tags,
and just whatever interesting things that come along. So, stay tuned! I'd love to hear
from you, and since I'm new, subscribe, and tell all your friends. You can also add me
on Goodreads at HeyHeyBooks, if you'd like, or email me at heyheybooks@gmail.com. So thank
you guys so much for watching! Bye!
