My name is Mike Phirman and I'm known for music comedy,
and I am known for being the "Phirm" half of "Hard 'n
Phirm," which is a music comedy duo.
Yes, I am on a show called "The Nerdist," but I don't
actually consider myself a nerd.
I consider myself a dork.
And I don't know if that difference means anything to
anybody else, but I don't think I deserve the name
"nerd." And when I say deserve, I mean I have not
earned the name "nerd." Like, I think I think I know more
about a couple things, and to be a nerd I would have to
really squeeze everything out of one of those things, and I
haven't done this.
I consider myself a gamer in a very specific sense, which is
I love word play.
And I am constantly gaming with words.
Like, I'm constantly processing the other meanings
of words and looking for dumb puns.
So to me, that is like an ongoing game that sometimes is
horrifying, and it's like a weird pun echo chamber.
But I can't play that many games because I will
get too into them.
Gaming is challenging.
I usually don't win games, by the way.
I like playing them.
They're fun.
I don't win them very often, so they're mostly challenging
in the sense of creative challenging, and challenging
because I don't usually win.
