I chose Pitman over the other courses I was offered because my mum had studied with Pitman, she’d done shorthand years ago
And I was travelling from Torquey to Exeter and it was difficult taking the children to school and getting here for 9 o’clock for other courses
and I knew Pitman would work with me and give me that bit of flexibility.
The support that I got from the teachers with my work, telling me I was good at what I did, I started to believe in myself
and I do believe in myself now and I didn’t before.
Pitman has given me the beginning of my career,
I’ve still got an awful long way to go but they’ve given me the solid foundations that I needed to even start.
I wasn’t going to start, I wasn’t going anywhere before I came here now I’m going places, now I’m doing stuff
Without Pitman I’d still be sat at home taking my children to school, and just volunteering without any direction at all,
I always wanted to but I didn’t know how and it wasn’t until I got here that I knew exactly how to go about getting what I want.
And my CV looks really good and I know that people will pick me up at some point.
I enjoyed the people most of all they treated my like an individual like someone who was capable of doing the course.
The way they changed the course for me was amazing and the course was great fun
I really enjoyed the course. I don’t think for one moment I got bored, I just wanted to keep learning and coming back.
