Hi and welcome to another review!
Today we'll be having a look at Marvel Select Sabretooth by Diamond Select!
This figure has been released in 2012 (first issue: 2009) and it's 7" scaled, it's about 7.5 inches tall!
Let's see the packaging! The usual huge blister, featuring the name of the character at the side, and the Marvel Select logo here at the top.
On this side, a very nice picture of the character from the comics.
On the back, a picture of the action figure, the read-up that I'll focus for you as always...
And here, some of the other figures in this line: Wolverine and Marvel Girl.
Let's take a closer look!
It's a pretty massive figure, as well as very nicely sculpted! Check out the sculpt work on the abs, on all the muscles! Really nicely done!
The face is amazing! Very expressive!
Really spectacular! Sometimes I look at it, and it seems alive! I know it may sound a bit exagerated, but that is the feeling I have!
You can almost hear the teeth screeching, looking at him!
Really impressive! On the shoulders there's this sort of fur, very nicely painted!
The colors are the classic ones, this orange and this very dark red which features these airbrush shades, pretty light, but they do their job, making the painting less flat!
On the forearms we have these spikes, very pointy! And obviously the inevitable claws on the hands.
Nothing special on the lower body, there's this little decoration on the forefoot.
Let's take a look at the back as well! You can see the big dorsal muscles, a bit curved forward.
A really nice looking figure!
As for the articulation: head is on a ball joint. Arms can fully rotate and move in and out. Rotation at the elbows, that can also bend at one point.
Rotation at hands, with a hinge that allows the up and down movement as well! It's a bit stiff!
Rotation at the waist. Legs can move forward and back, but only rotating like this, and move in and out, so there's basically a ball joint on the hips.
Single jointed knees, with full rotation. Rotation at the feet, with a hinge that allows the up and down movement on the feet.
As for the accessories, Sabretooth comes with this base only.
Grey, a bit metallic. Very nicely painted, with this wash!
The items you can see on the base come separately so they must be assembled, but it's very easy to do!
Not sure what they're supposed to be! This looks like a sort of fan.
It features two pegs that can be inserted under Sabretooth's feet.
In addition, we have this "Do not enter" sign. Very nicely painted as well! There are these scratches on it!
I think I know the author of these scratches!
Crooked, pretty run down!
You can just place it on the base. Nothing special, but it gives the base something more, a bit of color at least. Otherwise it would have been pretty flat in color, despite the nice paint wash.
And here's Sabretooth face to face with his archenemy: Wolverine!
In conclusion, there's no doubt! The Marvel Select line does its best with this massive and bulky characters!
I'm sure this Sabretooth will do fine even if you're collecting the Marvel Legends X-men, which are 6" scale!
When it comes to monstrous creatures, the scale difference between 6 and 7 inches almost becomes a positive aspect!
As for the price, it's the standard Marvel Select price: about 25 Euro in Italy (about 25 USD in USA).
However, this figure is getting pretty rare, so if you want it, don't hesitate too much!
I bought it on Multiplayer (italian website) and I paid 25,90 Euro shipped for it!
That being said, I'll see you on the next video! BYE!
