Welcome to The Employables, where we take your tales of job hunting woe to some of the UK's top employers.
MARSHA: My name is Marsha Witter, I'm the
talent scheme manager here at ITV. I manage our new entrant programs, around finding new
talent into our business, nurturing and helping them to develop their careers.
Here at ITV we recognize people as talent, so our work force is our talent. So my role
is about helping to find, whether it's young people or people who are wanting to change
careers and move into the media industry. The schemes that we run, it's very much about
giving people an opportunity, a bit of experience and a chance to try out something that perhaps
they hadn't done before. We offer an apprenticeship program, so that's aimed at people who are
aged 16 to 24. That's a year's paid experience and non-degree background.
We also offer graduate opportunities which we recruit throughout the year, and they're aimed at graduates.
And that's a two-year opportunity where the candidates are fast-tracked. We look at development,
so they're supported all the way through the program. We also offer a work experience program,
which we call ITV Insight, and that's aimed at people aged 18 plus, and there's no upper
age on that one. And that one is very much about, as the title suggests, gaining an insight
into our company and the roles that we offer, so that people can make an informed decision about
their career choices. We've got a brilliant recruitment website
at ITV, which is ITVJobs.com. That's our one-stop shop for all of our opportunities, our jobs,
traineeships, entry schemes and a lot of information about the company, and how other people got
their jobs, as well. For more videos from The Employables,
