When you're ready to register for classes we have a fairly easy
Web registration process for you
One of the things that you need to remember is you should always see
An advisor prior to registering for classes and in fact this is required if you've
Earned thirty credits or less towards your degree
The first thing to do for web registration is go to the
Big Bend Community College website
Under Student Life you'll see a link to the Student Kiosk, select that
Once you're on the Student Kiosk
You can do one of two things if you already know the item numbers for any
Of the classes you want to register for
You'd select Register for Classes
However in this example we're going to show you how you find courses that
Are being offered by selecting Class Scheduler
Oce you get to this screen you'll see that the quarters that you can
Select from are available
In this case were registering for Spring quarter 2012
You can also if you'd like try to just see online classes or main campus
Which would be Moses Lake in most cases we suggest that you actually just leave it
On all locations
And Select Courses
This screen with the time grid would allow you if you're working somewhere and
Say your work days are every day from two o'clock on
You can actually go in and block out those times and that way
It will not show you any classes that are offered at those times
For today we're not going to do that we're just going to leave everything
Open as though we can take classes anytime of the day
At this screen if you'd like to see every class that's being offered
You just select View Course List and you get a list of all the classes being
Offered for this particular quarter
If you already know the course definitions or descriptions
You just can type those in in this case I'm going to select from the list
The classes that I'm interested in for Spring quarter
I'm interested in Accounting 105 and you can see as you select that it
Puts it up in that box to the left
I'm also interested in a Humanities course and a Math course
Those I'm going to type in because I know what they are
So, Math
And it has the ampersand (&) it's part of the common course numbering
107
And I'm also interested in taking Humanities 214
Once you've selected the courses you're interested in taking
Then you click on Submit Selections in this case the Accounting 105
Class that
We were going to take has a message that the class all sections are currently
Closed
At a later time we'll be able to go ahead and add our names to the waitlist
For that class
But for now just select OK
We can see that for the Math 107 class there's just one selection
It's on Wednesdays from 5:30 - 8:00
So to select that class
You just click in the box on the left
For Humanities 214 we have a choice of two sections either a Tuesday
Evening class
Or a Monday through Thursday day class
At this time we'd like to take the day class
So we'll select there
We're now ready to go into Registration and register for classes so at the
Bottom of the screen
Select Register
You're taken to the Registration login page where you enter your
Student ID number (SID)
And your PIN number which is set as your birthdate month month day day
And the last two digits of the year
If your birth month begins with a zero you could leave that out and
Just enter a five digit number
And select Register
Once you've submitted you'll come to a screen that lets you know which classes you
Were able to get into and which classes in this case you were not
As you can see on the screen
I tried to register for Math 107
It's telling me that I have an unmet prerequisite what this means is either
I have not placement tested
Or I have not taken the class that you need to take before you get into
Math 107
But say in this case you know that you qualify for Math 107 because
You took a class previous to this at another college
What you'd need to do is contact the instructor discuss that with them and
Ask them for a course entry code
Once they give you that code you would enter that on this screen also it's
Showing me that the Accounting 105 class that I wanted to take
Is full
At this time I can add my name to the waiting list if I'd like to do that
And a very important thing to remember about waiting lists is once you've added
Your name to the waitlist
If a space comes available anytime between
The time that you register and the time that we begin classes
You'll automatically be registered into that class
You need to be checking your class schedule frequently
To see if you did get added to classes
As we'll be expecting you to pay for any classes that you got into from the
Waitlist
If you change your mind and no longer want to be on a waitlist there's a
Spot on the Student Kiosk where you can go in and remove your name
In this case I want to be added to the waitlist
For Accounting 105 I can see that the current waitlist count is zero
So I should end up being the first person on that list
Once I've done that I move to a screen that shows me what my current class
Schedule is
I'm currently enrolled in Humanities 214 for the Spring quarter
You'll also see the amount of money that you owe in tuition and fees
And also what the State Support for Higher Ed and Educational Tax Credit
Information that's provided to you
As long as the classes that you're
Enrolled in look good you just need to select
Finish
Please be sure to read the information on this finished screen
It will remind you of when tuition is due and also the last day that you can add
Any classes for an upcoming quarter if you believe that your address or e-mail
Address may have changed there's a way to change that by selecting
View my Address on the left
You can also view your schedule again and print that and if you're ready to
Pay you can select Pay By Credit Card that will take you to a screen where you'll enter
Your Mastercard or Visa
Information and actually can pay your tuition
Thanks for using web registration
