Today I'm going to give you guys two tips for you
to put in place for your YouTube channel
so that you will never again run out of ideas for videos
to make and create.
That's coming up.
Hey guys.
My name is Tim Schmoyer, and it's
Thursday, which means it's time to do some YouTube
Q&A with you guys.
EpicVideoCentral asked this.
"I know it's a lot to ask, but can I
have some good video ideas?
I am kind of running out of video ideas.
I have done remixes, vlogs, news flashes, and mini videos."
Yes.
Let me give you two ideas of things
that you can implement so that you will never run out
of an idea for another video again.
And I do both of these here at Video Creators,
and other channels.
The first one is to have an ongoing list of ideas.
You know how you guys have those moments of inspiration when
you come up with a list of like, three or four ideas
all at once?
You're like, oh, this would be good,
or that would be great, or something like that?
Well, pull out your phone, whether you keep it
in Evernote, or you keep it as like, a Google Doc,
or whatever you keep it in.
Just have an ongoing list of all your ideas,
and then obviously when you don't have an idea for next
week's video, just go to your document and start going
through your ideas, and you'll probably see some that are
like, well, that was dumb, why did I ever put that down?
No, I can't do that one.
But you'll find some others in there
also that might work pretty well,
and you like, oh, yeah, I remember that.
And you can go make that video.
The second thing you should implement is a little trickier,
but if you can do it, it like, works awesome.
Like, it does here on Video Creators,
and that is to create a system that automatically generates
ideas and content for you.
Let me use this channel as an example,
and hopefully it'll make sense for you.
So here I published three videos a week, right?
Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Video news, video, like, YouTube tips and ideas, and then
on Thursdays it's YouTube Q&A, right?
So for video news, I actually do tons of research,
I read hundreds of blogs and websites,
and I take all the top things that I
think are most important for you guys to know about,
and I consolidate them all into that video, right?
So every week when I make my Tuesday video,
I actually don't really know what
the content is going to be until I
go do and do that research, because my system is
that those videos are actually based on other people's
content, and for all intents and purposes, what I'm actually
doing here is just curating all that content
and putting it into a nice, neat little package for you.
On the Wednesday videos, YouTube tips, like, those are actually,
as you guys know, videos from previous Google+ Hangouts
on air, and I just take a lot of those clips and just make them
really small for you guys, because I know not all of you
can make it to those Hangouts.
And then I also user those to promote
upcoming Hangouts, and things like that.
So that content is always based on content that's actually
already been generated inside those Google+ Hangouts on air.
And then the system I have in place for Thursday's videos,
like, this is just really whatever
you guys want to talk about.
You comment with tons of questions
every week here on this channel, and I go through and just try
to find some that are well represented,
that multiple people have asked, or that one person, actually, I
haven't talked about yet here in the channel,
and I think it's worth addressing, you know?
So I am relying on you guys, also,
to generate content for this channel.
So I think as long as you can put a system in place that
automatically generates content ideas for your channel,
like, I never run out of ideas.
In fact, I'm like, backlogged on all the things
I want to talk about, but don't really have a spot to fit in.
So that works well for me, and I don't a lot of you
guys can probably come up with a system that
would work well for your content.
So whether it's vlogging, like, pick
a niche, or an an industry, maybe
that would lend itself to more focused kinds of things.
Because I think that's like, another problem
that we run into, is like, as long as we're just saying hey,
we're doing vlogs, right?
Well, we can vlog about like, almost anything, right?
And that's almost too proud.
Like, kind of give yourself a little bit narrower
of like, a field, or a niche, or something to work within,
that kind of prompts some more ideas.
I would love to hear from you guys in the comments below
about what system you have put in place that automatically
generates content ideas for your channel.
And if you don't have a system in place for how you generate
new content ideas, I'd love to hear from you, how you come up
with those ideas every week.
And the rest of you guys, make sure you
go read the comments below, what everyone down there is sharing,
because there is always good stuff,
things that I learn from you guys all the time.
If this is your first time here, I'd love to have you subscribe.
Every week we do YouTube Q&A just like this for you guys,
and you already know the other stuff I do,
because I just talked about it in this video.
So subscribe-- well, I do do this because I really
believe that a lot of you guys have messages that
are worth subscribing to, and that I really
think can change people's lives.
And I want to be a part of helping you
guys spread those messages, so that they change
the lives of the people who need to hear what you have to say.
So thank you for letting me be a part of helping you build
your audiences, and build your subscriberships,
and build your channels here on YouTube.
Subscribe, and I will see you guys again next week.
Bye.
