[Music] NARRATOR: Starline presents: The Brass Facts.
>>BRANDON: When you hear ".44 Magnum", chances are you think big revolver.
Perhaps the kind Dirty Harry used in the iconic movies from the eighty's.
But in many parts of the country, many people are using pistol cartridge rifles to hunt
deer, bear, and more game. This is a Marlin 1894 .44 Magnum.
This is a great knock down gun for a bunch different species.
I intend to hunting with this gun in Indiana for deer where they're legal.
Let's listen as Hunter Pilant from Starline Brass tells us how to reload a .44 Magnum
for hunting. >>HUNTER: The first step for reloading for
a specific purpose is to pick your load. This will help you decide your bullet, powder,
and primer. The next step is the load.
First, you'll size your case, which isn't necessary with new brass, and prime it.
The next step will be to bell the case. After belling the case, you'll charge your
case. We'll verify the weight.
Next, we seat the bullet and crimp. Then, we'll verify the overall length that
the manual has stated. >>BRANDON: Now that Hunter has gone ahead
and reloaded us some .44's for hunting, we're going to go ahead and shoot these at a target
and see how they'll perform outdoors. And we are left with a piece of Starline Brass
that can be reloaded again and again.
