Hi this is Brenda and today we are working on our pop-up cards. This project today is
going to be a Fall card and we need our 5 x 8 index cards that we can buy in the school
supply area of our store. We need some acrylic paints, rubber stamps, stamp pad, some scissors
and some glue and we are ready to begin. Now we take one of our 5 x 8 index cards and this
is out of card stock. For this project I am following as though it were two doors are
opening together like this. Just folding them so they meet in the middle. Fold and crease
them down like this. I have another sheet waiting by on the side over here that is going
to be the same size 5 x 8. This is going to be covering up kind of like a liner covering
up our cuttings that we make. We just put that to the side and that is the last part
that we do. So we fold over like this. Take our scissors and I am just making two little
cuts into the area that has been folded about half an inch coming up here doing the same
thing. Two little cuts. This is what is going to be like a little shelf inside of our card
to hold our leaves that we are going to be cutting out which is pressed into the card
like this and as you can see, becomes like to little shelves that we will use. Now we
take our stamp. I’ve chose a leaf print today. We will stamp that down on a piece
of our card stock. Paint it with our acrylic paint and cut them out. We will be gluing
those onto our little shelves like this and this actually is our finished product. As
you see as the card is opened like this, little leaves that we have cut out and placed here
on our shelves pop out at you. I put here Happy Fall and I also stamped some other Fall
leaves from our stamp pad on the background and we have glued our sheet that I told you
about earlier as our under liner. We glued that on so that you can’t see the cutting
marks where we cut earlier. So our recipient opens up and sees Fall leaves popping out
at them.
