I'm going to speak about that dental caries
dental caries is the medical term for tooth decay
or cavities, it is caused by specific types of
bacteria its
produce acid and this acid destroy the
tooth structure our teeth are compose of
four parts,first one is enamel
the part tooth you can see it is hardest issue
in body and contains the highest percentage
of minerals
second one is dentin
it is the main supporting structure of the tooth and second hardest
tissue in the body
third one is cementum
is the substance that is
covering the root of tooth
the last one is pulp
this contain the soft pulp and senstine nerve
fibers made up of leaving connective tissue
and cell,then when bacteria
produce acid this acid destroyed the enamel
and dentin structure many different types of bacteria normally live in the
human mouthy
they build up on the teeth
in a sticky film called
plaque
and this plaque also contain
salivia, bites of food
and other nature substance
plaque forms most easily in certain place
like between teeth
near the gum line
around the dental filing
plaque bacteries
turn sugar
sugar in the food we eat
turn this sugar to acid
this acid
dissolve the minerals
dissolve the minerals of enamel
enamel erodes or develop pits
this pits are too small at first
but get larger
over the time
now i am going to show you
in this picture
this is enamel,dentin and pulp
acid also can seep through pores
in the enamel
this is how decay begins in the dentin
as the dantin breack down
the enamel over it can collapse and forming
cavity if the cavity is not fixed
bacteria will get into the pulp
and this will make a infected pulp
when this happen the patient will feel that pain
today carries remain one of the
most common disease throughout the world
and cariology
cariology is the
study of dental caries
now I'm going to speak about the
symptoms
symptoms
of dental caries early caries may not have any symptoms
later when the decay has eaten through the enamel
the teeth may be sensitive to sweet
hot or cold
food or drinkd,a person experience caries
may not be aware of the disease
earliest sign of the
new caries is the
chalky white spot
this one
is on the surface of the tooth
white spot
indicating and area of demineralization
of enamel this is referred to as a white spot lesion
as the lesion continues to demineralize it can turn
brown
will eventually turn into a cavitation
before the caviity forms the proces
is reversible in white sport its
reversible But once a cavity forms then lost tooth
structure cannot be regenerated and the effected areas of the tooth change
color
they become soft
to the touch in next video
I'll speak about the diagnose
and treatment of dental caries thank you for watching
