I'm gonna make a quick little video about Anchor Points in how they work.
Basically the Anchor Point is this little circle with the crosshairs in it.
It usually defaults to the center of your layer,
in this case I'm on Barbie's "Head" layer.
So right now, if I rotate it (Rotate)
it's gonna rotate around that position in the middle of her head. If I do
any type of scaling, it's also going to scale from that center point.
So if I want to move that or change that, I need to come up to my toolbar and select the "Pan Behind" Tool.
(and I'm not quite sure where that name comes from or any of that so don't ask)
But you'll notice you have it because under the Move Tool the icon appears.
If I want to rotate from the middle of Barbie's head I would move it there,
and now you can see it moves from that center point.
The reason Anchor Points are important in relation to our exercise
is because you can use Anchor Points
to mimic body joints. So if I move the Anchor Point to where,
Barbie's neck meets her head and I go to change the rotation
I can get her to
nod her head
or shake it around or whatever.
That is the point of anchor points.
They mirror your joints,
and everything is in relation to that point so if i go back up into this window
If I go back and do her right arm,
I've already moved the Anchor Point in this one but I want it go into the socket.
Once again,
now when I rotate it, it rotates from the appropriate spot.
So for this exercise,
make sure that you have moved your Anchor Points
to the point of the body
where a joint would be located.
If it doesn't make sense to you still,
send me an email and we'll go from there.
