Good afternoon mustangs
I'm Wes!
And I'm Jaydon!
And this is your West News.
Today is Monday, October 14th, 2013.
Tomorrow the low is expected to be 35 degrees and the
high 60 degrees.
It is National Teen Read Week and libraries across the
country are celebrating YOU and the books you love to
read. The theme this year is "Seek the Unknown" so grab
a friend or go it alone and join the Mustang Library
Scavenger Hunt. You just may discover something NEW
and you will be entered in a drawing to win one of 15
colorful flash drive wrist bands like these!
See you in the library!
Now to Lucas in sports:
Attention all 7th and 8th grade Wrestlers!
There is a meeting in the weight room today during 1st
lunch for anyone interested in joining the West Wrestling
Team. We will hand out Parent Letters and schedules
and discuss the coming season. Don't miss it... BE
THERE!
SHE SHOOTS! SHE SCORES!
The 7TH and 8TH grade lady Mustangs hoops season is
here! There is a 7th and 8th grade ladies basketball
players meeting this Wednesday in the little gym right
after you finish lunch.
GO MUSTANGS!
Congratulations to West's Cross-Country teams for their
performances at the Camel's Back Park meet last
Thursday. The runners of the week for the 7th/8th grade
teams are Ty DeVoe, Diego Carrillo, and Jaelyn Quisel.
The runners of the week for the 9th grade teams are
Drake VanBuskirk and Ellie Webber. They are
completing their season Thursday at the City
Championships at Ann Morrison Park! Go Mustangs!
Coach Carlson
On Friday, the Lady Mustangs faced the Les Bois
Trailblazers. The girls started off the game with some
major intensity, spiking the ball over the net 3 different
times. Somehow, Les Bois was able to recover and came
back to win the first and second game. Not giving up, the
girls came back to win in the 3rd game! Noel Pullicar
served 9 serves in a row, helping keep the Mustangs in
the game. The girls continue to play well, regardless of
the final score on the scoreboard, we are proud of you
lady Mustangs!
Raise your hand if you like MMA! Raise your hand if you
like to rough house! Raise your hand if you play a sport!
Raise your hand if you like winning medals and awards!
If you raised your hand to any or all of these then you
would love wrestling. Wrestling is the only sport where
everybody gets to participate. There is absolutely no
riding the bench. Wrestling will help you with your
balance, speed, strength, and flexibility.
Do you think you are one of the best athletes at West?
Come and prove it. We have the best athletes in the city
here at West come out for wrestling and help us win
another championship.
If you are interested come and talk to Coach Rowe or
Coach Corbett. First practice is Thursday the 24th after
school on the stage in the small gym.
Now back to the studio!
Attention Mr. Rowe's European travelers. Our first
meeting will be Tuesday at break in room 112. We will go
over a few quick things. It will only take a few minutes.
Again Mr. Rowe's European Travelers, meeting Tuesday
at break room 112.
Attention 7th graders interested in representing you class
in student council. There will be an informational meeting
concerning the requirements to run for 7th grade
president and vice president. That meeting will be held
Wednesday at break in Room 104. Any questions talk to
Mr. Henderson or Mrs. Warnock.
The quote of the day is from Bill Keane. He
said, "Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today
is a gift. That's why it's called the present." So appreciate
today Mustangs.
This is Wes!
And Jaydon!
Stay classy West Jr. High!
