The letters p and q resembles each other so closely that if you've ever heard the expression
mind your p's and q's, for typesetters, the p's and q' were almost identical. There's
a p. So here's the first stroke of the p it goes down to the descenders space. This is
about three pen width's deep. So I'll just make a little, that's our descenders space.
So with the p, we start with a straight stroke and we add an oval and a little cap there.
So the p. And the q is just the reverse of that, q is a little easier to draw. One, at
the top of the q is a little bit different. So let me show you that. One, just like a
c, we go across and then down. We're going to finish off the stroke by pulling it up
a little bit. It doesn't have to be quite that pronounced. One more q, one; two. So
p and q. Think the p is equal in width and height of the q. There you go.
