ok, the 16th of September of 2013 my life change dramatically, before that day I was
studying in Taiwan a master degree in medical sciences, I was a person that was trying just
to be her self, a person with outstanding record in my master, but after that day, I
became a UN refugee, a United Nations Refugee, I became a person, A stateless person, a person
with no identity, no dignity, no passport, living in a shelter, in a over crowded shelter,
living on the floor in poor conditions, you all might be wondering, what happened that
day?, that day I was sexually abused in Hong Kong, in the International Airport of Hong
Kong, I came here because I had to change my passport, because the picture of my passport
was not matching with my face, as you may realize I am a transgender person, I was born
male, but now I am a female when I went to Taiwan, the main reason was doing my transitioning
because I am from Colombia, and in Colombia they kill transgender for fun, more that 300
transgender were murdered in last years, so I have to find the way to be myself and the
rejection of my society is quite big that I have to find the way to be my self even
leaving back my life and everything, I came here because in Taiwan they asked me to change
the picture of my passport, and to change my gender from Male to Female, and there was
not other way because Taiwan is not holding relations with my country, so I have to come
to the closest consulate, that is the Hong Kong's one, so I had to come here but when
I came here officers they were like, who are you? why you are so different in the picture
of your passport? and you are now looking as a woman? we can not allow you to enter
about to be killed in two ocasions in my country and I show them I have here a scar 6 inches
because I was stabbed in my back just because I was trying to be myself, they didn't care
about that, and actually the put me in jail, the put me in the man section, in front of
all of these people that was detained, I was crying, I ask them, why are you treating me
like that? Im just a human being, I just came here to make a passport and then I go back
to study to continue my scholarship, they didn't care, what they did was actually to
send to the customs and excise office, and then they forced to be naked, and they started
touching my body, and they started touching my ***, they started touching my entire
body, it was like rejecting the way who I am, and they were legally able to do that
because in my passport is an M so they can not consider my *** as a sensitive part
of my female shaped body according with the immigration officers, and they were forcing
me to be naked in front of these two guys that were mocking and laughing I was telling
them please respect my self I am a woman, and because you don't understand who I am
It doesnt matter I don't have to be rejected for who I am, they want me to deport me to
my country, and In my country, and in my country I don't have nothing to do o to wait for me,
my family they just don't want to know about my self, ifI go to my country I can be murdered
because in my passport is an M instead an F, so the only thing and the only way I found
was turning on my cellphone that was off after the airplane, I wrote down, Help me! I've
been detained in the airport, and finally my message escalate on facebook and all organizations,
Amnesty International, Rainbow of Hong Kong especially this organization that help me
to go out of the airport, so I became then an Illegal person, they never officially allow
me to enter to Hong Kong, so right now Im a illegal person, but I want to find the way
to be my self, I am here a stateless person, and I have to be all the time with someone,
because I can be mistreated anytime in Hong Kong, and I can be detained anytime they want,
this is my passport (detention letter) because they too my passport, my passport is a detention
letter (immigration recognizance) is not logic that I am a UN refugee it means I should be
protected from any abuse but I can be detained in anytime for Hong Kong authorities, thank
you.
