Graduated Driver's Licensing laws, or GDL laws,
essentially help teens ease into the responsibility of being a driver.
It will restrict driving at certain hours of the evening.
It will restrict how many passengers can be in the car.
It will also indicate how many hours of supervised driving
they'll need with an adult before they can get their adult license.
Graduated Driver's Licensing laws have reduced crashes nearly 11%.
Some kids are not comfortable that they probably got their license too early
or just they weren't comfortable yet.
We find that with more stringent Graduated Driver's License rules
and more training and more partnership
between parents and their teens,
you build a successful driver.
We're really trying to raise awareness and let people know
that this is a serious chronic health issue,
and people need to look at their Graduated Driver's Licensing laws
in their state, make sure that parents know about them
and they're working with their teens to make sure that they're
safe on the roads, following these restrictions,
and eliminating those distractions.
