Hi! I'm Jennifer Kimball and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how
to organize and maintain your book collection. Your bookshelves don't have to be just for
books. You can also put objects of art or knickknacks on your bookshelves to add a little
bit extra than just having books. You can have things such as decorative boxes, maybe
little figurines that you have on you bookshelf. This also works really well if your bookshelves
are not completely full of books yet. Say you purchased your bookshelves or you had
bookshelves built in for what you're planning on having eventually, not just for what you
have now. In this case, you might have some spaces between your books. You can put a figurine
right in there. That way you don't have big empty spaces that aren't filled with anything.
If you have lots of bookshelves that don't have a lot of books on it, you might want
to divide it so you have half books and maybe a vase or something. Something that's going
to take up more room. If your bookshelves are completely filled with books, you can
always also just put things right in front of the books. As long as it's not in front
of something you're accessing all the time, this is going to be a nice addition and more
decorative aspect to your bookshelves.
