Good day and See you soon!
Hello everyone!
Welcome for a new Final Fantasy XIV : A Realm Reborn video!
A very diferent video of what I usualy do
I'll introduce the Jobs Monk , the jobs I play mainly since the release of the game
This video will be in 2 parts , in the first , I'll talk about the diferent ability of Monk
The second part is to show you all of this in action in the Endgame !
The monk is one of only 2 Melee game with Dragon
They work with 3 diferent form
Some abilities are better when use in the correct Form, other cannot be used without the right form
You should also notice that our ability strengh can vary a lot, depending on our position on the fight
I'll present the ability like we have the correct form
The first form is the Opo-Opo Form
We got Bootshine, which will give a critical hit when you're on the back of the mob
Arm of the Destroyer , which is a small AoE , which will effect the Silence
Dragon Kick , which will reduce the resistance to attack of the monk for 10%
The second form is the Raptor Form
the first ability isTwin Snakes, which will increase damage inflicted by 10%
The second is True Strike, it has 5% chance of doing a critical damage
And third abilities is One Ilm Punch, which will have the effect of Dispel
The third and final Form is the Coeurl Form
The first ability is Snap Punch. The most powerful physical attack Monk
Demolish is the second abilities , a DoT
And third abilities is Rockbreaker , an AoE
each of the abilities of Coeurl posture, give buffs called Greased Lightning, it stack up to 3
But that, I 'll tell you about that in the second part of the video
There have also Touch of Death, a DoT, we'll need to eapply it every 30 seconds
Other damage ability are, Howling Fists , which is an AoE line , and Steel Peak, which is the stun of the Monk
These 2 ability are not part of the general Cooldown and can be used anytime
There is also Shoulder Tackle , which will charge a monstre from far away
There is also Haymaker , which can only be used after dodging a ability ,and gives slow effect to enemies
This is not a very useful ability at the moment, because we don't dodge attacks very often as monk
The monk has 3 diferent Buffs , which will last forever, but you can only have one at the time
The first is Fists of Earth , which will reduce the damage received by 10%
The second is Fists of Wind, which will increase moving speed
And the last is Fists of Fire , which will increase damage by 5%
Fist of Fire will be the one almost always on
For the diferent buffs, we have Internal Release, which will increase by 30% the chance of critial hikts
We have Featherfoot, which will increase the chances of evading attacks
And perfect balance , which allows to use any ability without the form
And finally, as support ability, we haveSecond Wind , which can regenerate HP
And Mantra , which will increase Heal received to us but also to all person around us, to +20%,
It's really nice in dungeon to help White Mage
That's it i think
I'm not going to talk about the other job ability we can get on monk
But one that I think is important is motivation , which gives 400 TP , because the Monk can rather run out quickly of TP
That's all for the Monk ability, now let see it in practice !
I'll show you now diferent gameplay to show you the Monk ability
But the most important thing for monk, it's Greased Lighting
Greased Lightning is a buffs we get everytime we use an ability from the coeurl form
So after the rotation of three main ability of the monk
It'll increase the speed by 5% and damage by 7%
What they mean by Speed, is the actually global cooldown of your ability
It stack to 3 time, which gives us 21% Damage increase, and 15 % of Speed
But it only last for 12 second, and is removed if we don't use an ability from the coeurl form
So then we'll have to wait 3 cycle of ability, with reduced Speed and damage, before getting it back
The lose of DPS is huge
There are two way to start a fight, the first is to use Touch of Death, the first DoT
Followed by perfect balance , followed by Demolish , to apply the second DoT
Then it's Snap Punch Twice, to win the three stack of Greased Lightning
Followed Twin Snakes for the Buffs +10% Damage Points
Dragon Kick x2, the first is so the boss gets the debuff that increases monk damage by 10%
And the second is to start your ability rotation
You should have all the buffs and debuffs of monk in the battle by now,
Or you can keep perfect balance, and use it later in the fight, if you lose Greased Lightning
You'll lose DPS at start, but you might get it back if you do a mistake
The rotation is Dragon Kick, followed by Twin Snakes , followed by Snap Punch
Or Demolish if it wore offs
at each rotation , you should replace Dragon Kick by Bootshine
it will give a critical hit, but be careful, it really all depend on the monster you're fighting
For exemple, on Titan HM it might be best to not use Bootshine
So AoE wont get on other player spots
But on other boss, like the one from AK, or Caducee from the Binding Coil
It's good because we can forme them to their back attack, Caducee can use it every 10 secondes
And when he uses it , it just give 2 to 3 seconds when it can't damage the boss
But careful not to take unnecessary risks in monk 'cause we get OneShot by it
If you don't have the time to use Bootshine, don't use it
So to return to the rotation , it was Dragon Kick to be replaced once by Bootshine
Then you must do Twin Snakes again, Do not try to do True Strike instead of Twin Snakes every rotation
otherwise, you may lose the buffs of twin snake , the 10% Damage increase, before you can use Twin Snake again
Followed by a Snap Punch or demolish,if it wore off
Usualy, we can do between 2 and 3 Snap Punch before having to use Demolish again
Depending on your speed, or the buffs you got
For Howling Fist and Steel Peak
The best is to use then whenever they're available, between 2 ability as they're not part of the main cooldown
Unless there's another stun of course
Diferent buffs, like Internal release, or Blood for Blood,
Can be activated at any time , but may be better if they are activated before doing the DoT
'cause the DoT are the abilities that make a lot of damage in the game
And they work like this : They take your stat and you buffs, when you use them
So if you use Internal Release, on Touch of death
Your DoT will have the 30% increase chance of critical the whole time
Touch of Death must be used every 30 secondes, during your ability rotation
I hope you liked this video, it's the first time i'm doing one like this!
