Today we do something different, i´ll wager that i can reach France in less than 30 minutes by car.
Its almost 1 P.M., who disagrees with my wager?
You can see my watch now, my estimate was a bit optimistic, i thought i could reach this place even faster.
I could not guess that the road would be blocked by Czech and Polish trucks.
Here we are, lets see what we can find here.
I´m standing infront of the so called "La Tour Memorial" next to the village of Oberhausen.
The estate where this memorial is built on is real French territory.
As you can see i don´t have to drive all the way to France in order to set my foot on French land.
Here we can see the memorial, the land within this little fence belongs to France.
I could have brought one of my model tanks with me and invade miniature France just for fun,
but that would be quite nasty, i have some respect for the French.
I can´t pronounce French properly.
What is the background of this memorial? At this site on the 21st of June 1800 a French officer named "La Tour",
the first grenadier of the French republic was killed.
He was killed during a battle with Austrian and Bavarian troops and was burried here. Later this memorial was set up.
His body is not here anymore, many years ago he was transferred to Paris as far as i know.
However, this memorial is still officially French territory.
Here you have a nice view over the landscape, we are here in the district "Neuburg - Schrobenhausen".
The weather is brilliant for this season, the sky is blue without a cloud.
Its actually pretty warm, but quite windy.
Nevertheless you can walk around here without a jacket, i think the temperature is around 15°C. Its warm for this season.
Alright, i hope you enjoyed this little stroll, its something different for a change.
Some people asked for that and i think thats a nice idea.
If you like it i´ll do another video in this manner, there is plenty to see in my area.
Not only French territory, but also other cool things.
Thank you for watching, see you in the next video, your Hamilkar Barkas.
