Telc is a small town located in the southern part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands.
Thanks to the Renaissance and Baroque houses around its market place
the town has been preserved its aspect of an late middle ages/early modern town.
Since 1992, the town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In 1978, Werner Herzog shot his film "Woyzeck" with the unforgettable Klaus Kinski in Telc.
The year before, in 1977, parts of the movie "How to wake a Sleeping Beauty"
by Vaclav Vorlicek were shot at the Telc castle, a film that is,
next to "Three Nuts for Cinderella" by the same director,
the most famous Czech fairy tale film in Germany.
Currently an exhibition in cooperation with the Barrandov film studios
is held at the gallery of the castle. It is open until the 31st of October 2013.
Many props such as costumes, wigs and objects used in the film are shown here,
but also script pages and much more stuff.
In short, it is a very interesting exhibition
that is very entertaining to see, not only for film history lovers.
So if you are just traveling through this region right now: it is a must-see! :-)
