How to Hide Flat Screen TV Cables – “The Apartment Challenge”
Hi, I’m Bill. This is my apartment, and this is my new flat screen TV.
As you can see, the wires are a gigantic mess.
Since I’m renting, I can’t run the wires through the wall.
So we’re going to use the Wiremold Flat Screen Cord Cover to conceal it.
The Wiremold Flat Screen TV Cord Cover Kit is easy to install.
The only tools you’ll need are a hand- or hacksaw, a tape measure, a level, and a Phillips head screwdriver.
Measure the distance from the bottom of the screen to the top of the components, and add about an inch to the top and bottom so the ends are fully hidden.
Cut both the base and the cover to length.
Using a level, mark the wall.
Note that this is a corner installation – on a larger wall, the cord cover would down from the center of the TV screen.
Mark the holes and, using a Phillips head screwdriver, install the drywall anchor.
Fasten the base to the wall with the included screws.
Lay the cables over the base.
Snap about 6” to 12” of the cover onto the base, and slide it into position.
Paint the cover to match the wall using latex paint.
That’s all it takes to hide all those cables.
The Wiremold Cord Cover Kit is widely available,.
