Hello and welcome to another FFGD Tutorial...
...and in this tutorial I am going to show you how to render in HD in Sony Vegas 9
Uhm, so the first thing you are going to want to do is to open up Sony Vegas.
And insert a picture [Insert something relevant to your video]
So for instance, I'm going to put our site's clan logo onto here...
...just gonna drag & drop it.
So, once you've done that and you've got all your video pictures ready to render...
...you go to "Render As"
So, when you render you should come up with this screen, make SURE you click on "Render As" and not "Save"...
...as save will only save it as a project file.
So first of all, you're going to want to go to save as type
and you're gonna want to make it "Windows Media Video V11"
This is the most preffered type for youtube, as it's the one that probably renders the quickest...
...and it's the easiest to use.
So, you need to go to "Default Template"
And you go to "Custom"
So, if you have audio you keep it as it is. "CBR, Windows Media Audio 9.2 and 128kbps, 44KHz, Sterio, (A/V), CBR".
You can rename it to what ever you like, lik "Youtube HD"
And just click on the "Save" button
Then you go to the next tab which is "Video"
And under this tab, you're gonna want it to be "Quality VBR, Windows Media Video 9"
Now you can change your image size. There are some defaults. So if you want 720p, use HD 1280x720. If you want 1080i/p use the second HD preset. Its the "Better HD"
This will affect your file size, but it will be better quality. For youtube, it's best to use "1280x720". Put quality to 90%.
Putting it to 100% will not only make the size much, much bigger, but there is not much difference really between 90% & 100%.
So, the bit-rate you leave it all. You can fill in the details for your video...
The project, "Video Rendering Quality", put it to "Good". You may be thinking *Why shouldn't I put it to best?*
You can put it to best if you want, but if you do, you get bigger file sizes, longer rendering and also if you want to use a HD camera, render it in HD on vegas pro...
...and use it as good and plug it into yor tv, or into your dvd or whatever, it would still be HD. There is not much difference between good & best.
So you save your template when you finished and you will hit "OK", then rename it and click save.
