Hello and welcome to Todd's kitchen. There are many flavoured cake recipes out there
but the one thing most of them have in common is they pretty much loo the same on the
the inside
so today im going to make it look a little more interesting
so join me today as i make my version of a marble cake
To start into a mixing bowl place in two hundred grams
of softened butter
then one cup of sugar
Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer we are going to beat this until it
comes up pail and creamy
As you can see it is now pail and creamy
next add one tablespoon of vanilla extract
then crack in one egg
Now we are going to mix this until the egg is completely incorporated
then crack in the second egg and mix it through completely again
Next pour in half our milk
then half of our self raising flour. If you don't have self raising flour just add two
tablespoons of baking powder
Once your half is in beat it until well combined
Next pour in the rest of our milk and the rest of our flour
Don't over mix it, just mix it until it is just combined
Next with our mix
we are going to evenly divide it between another two bowls
So all together we will have three bowl of mix
Into our first bowl place in a few drops of red
food coloring
Then mix it through
Into the next bowl place in two tablespoons of coco powder
then one tablespoon of milk
Then mix it through until its well combined
Next i have a spring form pan and with that im going to
grease it with some cooking spray oil
Then next
with a large spoon full
place a spoon full
in different spots of the white and I'm going to do the same for the red
and finally add in our chocolate
and back to our vanilla
and continue on until you use all the mix. Next what we are going to do is
just even it out
just so its
nice and uniform
on the base
and one final step just for inside purposes
just move it around just a little bit
just to combine it
you don't want to combine it to much
and that should be enough, and just pat that down again
just so its even
Now that its done we are going to place it into a pre heated oven at a hundred and
eighty degrees celsius for about thirty five minutes just until when you put a
wooden skewer in the middle it comes out clean
So i have taken the cake out of the oven and it is cooling down
So while its cooling down we are going to make a very simple icing. Into a mixing bowl
place in our softened butter
then our icing sugar
A tablespoon coco powder
then one and a half tablespoons
of milk
then just like the cake beat this with a hand mixer or a stand mixer until
its well combined
So i have our cake and let it cool down
So all we have to do is with our icing
spread it around the top of the cake
just so its nice and even
And there we have it, our lovely
slice of marble cake
so you have a chocolate and vanilla flavour going there
and you have three colours which make it look so much more interesting.
but it comes down to what it tastes like so lets give it a go
well now that is fantastic
Its a fluffy cake but its also slightly moist as well which is just fantastic
and this cake really took notes on what sort of mike
and this cake really took no time what so ever to make, it was that simple. But with that chocolate, vanilla and those colours all going on at once
this cake simply delish
So if you're after a cake thats just that little bit more interesting
then i guarantee this is the cake for you so give it a go and let me know what you
think but especially is you do make it please leave a photo on my Facebook page
