I'm here with John Sadler. Good morning John. Closing weekend at Hollywood Park. 3, 4 stakes
races you take three of them including Switch's win in the Gleam, earning a spot in the Breeders'
Cup Challenge. Not a bad day at the office, huh?
No, a very good day, it's the days that make you wanna get up and come to work.
OK, and now you've entered switch in another Breeders' Cup Classic here today. Three hundred
thousand Hirsch. Umm feeling good about that? She was third in this race last year, ran
a good race, trained very well for this race, so we're gonna take another chance in the
Hirsch this year, and hopefully she can get the job done.
OK, I saw you back at the yearling sale at Keeneland in September. I believe you told
me you picked up a couple of horses, is that correct?
Yes. Any of those be racing here this meet?
We've got ... most of those will be ready for Oak Tree, the next meet. We've got a beautiful
Bernardini colt that we bought back there. We have a half-sister to Switch.
Really. Her name is Switched Up, easy to remember.
Look for her at Oak Tree. That's from Quiet American?
No, by Pleasantly Perfect out of the same dam.
Oh, ok, the owner Lee must be pleased with Switch?
Yeah The horse has served you well, huh?
Yep, we bought a little more of the family. Now when I think of you, I can never stop
thinking about Candy Ride. You've had so much, you've trained so many Candy Ride progeny,
you've had such amazing success with Candy Ride horses. Are you developing an affinity
for them and a knowledge of their characteristics which assist you, or does he just produce
really good horses? He produces a lot of really nice horses. We've
been fortunate to have a lot of nice Candy Rides. We've got a couple of two-year olds
this year that are by Candy Ride we've got high hopes for, so he's just an outstanding
sire, and I think you'll see a lot of Candy Rides in the future.
Just the other day, I watched the replay on YouTube of Sydney's Candy's debut, turf debut
here like two summers ago. That was a thrilling, thrilling race. I'm looking forward to some
races like that from some more of Candy Ride's progeny.
Yeah, there's a lot of nice Candy Rides out there. Good horses, they can run on any surface.
That's what I was thinking they're so versatile ...
Absolutely ...You gotta like a horse that has that kind
of quality. Absolutely
Well thank you so much John. My pleasure.
