Today on our 2004 Toyota Sienna, we'll be test fitting this Thule Helium Aero hitch-mounted
2-bike carrier, part number TH9042. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of
the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. We'll allow the integrated hitch pin to
fall into place, and then, we'll turn the black *** to engage the anti-rattle device.
With the bike rack secure, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the
two fit together. We have about 15-1/2 inches of ground clearance. Closet part of the bike
rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 3 inches away, and with the cradle arms
folded down, we have added about 15 inches to theoverall length of our Sienna. We can
now pull the gray lever at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms out, and with
the cradle arms out, we've added about 25 inches to the overall length of our Toyota
Sienna. To access the cargo area, we can pull the gray lever at the base of the bike rack
and tilt the mast down. As you can see, we can easily gain access to the rear hatch.
To load the bike, we'll make sure the mast is in its upright position.
