there's a new hot based prescription drug that could receive f_d_a_ approval
and this is really throwing a huge monkey wrench into of all of the
discussions about the war on drugs into the safety and and other discussions of
marijuana that we've been having this is a british pharmaceutical company
that's completing some crews are clinical trials of the drug which is
derived directly for marijuana
and the hope is to have it receive approval from the food and drug
administration by the end of next year so what's the obvious issue here i mean
the drug contains ta cee
and um... us some other marijuana related
elements which i know i don't have your in my notes and it's been approved in
canada it's been approved in new zealand
a lot of european countries use its to relieve muscle spasms associated with
m_s_ what do you see is the obvious problem with this drug in the u_s_
abuse addiction
uh... i don't know
rose's bedtime as saying that with the drug itself and saying would be
entire
uh... in uh... drug industrial complex
man
unblinking on this one
he was going to happen if the booklet at least according to those who are uh...
uh... advocating for the legalization
of medical marijuana they're saying that if this passes it will priate
fodder and a new argument to say hold on
we can develop
pharmaceutical
items which we can profit from
we don't need to legalize marijuana itself because there's much more money
to be made from a drug like this if marijuana itself is not legalize so that
the problem were kind of skipping ahead and saying hey you know what
not only in our are we not going to legalize marijuana let's go the next
step in were actually going to create pharmaceutical regulated drugs
derived from marijuana
now that's going to be changing around the entire
financial complex around the drug which is really what it's all about
although money yeah i mean this is what the drug war really is all about it's
the rights the profits as soon as big pharma figures out out a profit
from a merrill on appeal for lack of a better term
uh... all of a sudden they're going to be all about using it but the prevention
of the legalization of marijuana is because it would come at the expense a
pharmaceutical industry profits
and it would also actually shrink government significantly imagine if you
don't need all of a sudden d_e_a_
to focus on marijuana
you also eliminate the need to bring it in a dangerous ways involving killings
in beheadings
from south of the united states
you change the entire paradigm and that's really what the problem
aren't there already uh... t h c pills
but earth day proved that are used for um...
cancer patients and people were terminally ill
another on the u_s_ under delivery time
no i don't think so but what i was gonna say about this is that
it's kind of the risk of using the medical marijuana issue as appoint
so then convince people to support you know
drug legalization in terms of recreational use in uh... anemic you'd
there should be a movement that specifically talks about the
recreational use biz if not
big farmers always can be able to do this with any especially in the future
of the development of drugs
you know based on street drugs so we're saying is the case made the case to be
made about legalizing marijuana should not depend on the personal uses
uh... because then the or brings up the door to say hey we can find other ways
to accomplish the same things
uh... pharmacologically so it should be an argument that says
maybe it's a nightmare that says cigarettes are way more dangerous and
those are uh... those illegal
there's really no reason marijuana should be illegal as that kind of the
argument you're making
yet in point of fact i read an article recently about cigarettes being made
that are harmful
so it's like it'll still be addicted
it just won't be harmful
so i havent so did the same argument goes against cigarette smoking even if
it's not harmful in one regard you should still be again something with
addictive
i think they're matter how you cut it
you know it's supposed to smoke things i think smoking anything clearly has a a
risk attached to it is that true i mean is it but i don't think that that's true
their there
things you can inhale that don't necessarily have negative repercussions
are any let's take the experience in both scheme
right i guess team can cause asthma
for certain people butts team doesn't have any team can cause an asthma attack
it's kind of the way you refer to it smokes will lose two saying isn't steam
smoke
it smoking anything is probably cutting returning
uninsured are plenty of gas is we can hear older that i have no effect on us
or beneficial to us but when you're burning
uh...
something carbon-based
the are you not supposed to be inhaling that well let me make clear uh...
actually don't really care at all about the legalization of marijuana in fact
uh... as i told before the show i have a neighbor situation that involves some
incredibly annoying marijuana smoking i actually can't stand the smell of
finding incredibly annoying
uh... legally and looking at all the evidence
there just doesn't really seem any reason given what is legal to continue
this a special if we consider lives lost
people incarcerated money spent d_e_a_
people dying in mexico all of it together it just doesn't make any sense
to monumental waste of time money and uh... resources in general
let's take a break if you have an our phone or android phone you go to state u
