Today on TOAD we're talking about 5 exciting new dramas coming out in
August 2012. [Animation] Starting off with number 5 we have KBS2's Monday and Tuesday
night drama 'Haeundae Lovers'. Kim Kang Woo plays a prosecuter who goes undercover
to infiltrate a crime family in Haeundae. And after getting into an accident and losing
his memory, falls in love with the mob boss's daughter played by Jo Yo Jeong. Why watch?
Jo Yo Jeong is an adventurous actress who's become famous for her willingness to do and
mastery over sex scenes and nudity. (gasp) And Kim Kang Woo won best actor in Italy's
Torino Film Festival in 2007. You never know what you're going to get with people who are
willing to go all out. At number 4 we have MBC's friday night drama 'The Thousandth
Man'. It's only 8 episodes long, which is too short not to watch. But can you make
an epic drama in 8 episodes. Lee Chun Hee plays a man in danger. He recently met this
lovely girl, with a dark and sinister secret. (gasp) She's a gumiho! For those of you thinking
what the heck is a gumiho? A gumiho is a fox like creature in korean legend who
eats men's livers. Kang Ye Won plays a gumiho who's eaten a whole lot of men's livers. 999
to be exact. Slow motion 999. (record scratch) One more and she becomes human. Not the best
person to meet. Why watch? It's 8 episodes. And with a man who's in love with this girl
who's trying to eat him, it's bound to be funny. At number 3 we have Arang and the
Magistrate. Arang and the Magistrate is a Josen period drama being aired on Wednesday
and Thursday mights on MBC. Shin Min Ah plays a female ghost who visits Lee Jeung Ki who
plays a government offiical. And begs for his help. Punish my murderer Why Watch?
Min Ah is a very talented singer, author, model and actress. But, she considers acting
her true calling with 9 acting awards including 2 for best actress. And it's Lee Jeung Ki's
comeback after military service. He's a real cutie who does really well in period dramas.
Iljimae! (Sigh) Illjimae, Korean robinhood, he's really cute. At number 2 we have Monday
and Tuesday night's SBS drama Faith It stars Lee Min Ho as a general from the
Goryeo period. And he drags Kim Hye Sun who plays a doctor from modern times, back to
the past for her medical skills. Unfortunately, the time traveling doctor was just done with
MBC's Time Slip Dr. Jin. So here's hoping that the story is a unique take on the concept.
Why watch? The lead actor from City Huner and Boys Over Flowers is paired with a woman
that's known as the first beauty of south korea) and who starred alongside Jackie Chan.
(bell music) And last, but certainly not least, at number 1 we have SBS's To the Beautiful
You. I've been looking forward to this drama so much. To the Beautiful you is based of
of the Japanese story Hana Kimi It's about a gold medalist high jumper, who's played
by Min Ho who's in a slump due to injury. And his is biggest fangirl (played by Sulli),
disguises herself as a boy and transfers to his all boys high school to help him out.
Why watch? It's perfect timing right after the Olympics. And female to male gender benders
tend to do well internationally. I think it's going to be a hit. Sulli is from the kpop
group FX and Minho is from Shinee. And that's our TOAD top 5 new dramas of August 2012.
Let me know, which one do you want
to watch?
