Hello, my name is Michael. I know that traveling to Asian countries may be very confusing for
tourists, so I came up with a list of tips that may help you to feel confident during
your travel. You should also remember that asian culture is different from our, and you
should respect it. Hopefully, the tips on this video will help
you to get the best experience from your travel.
Southeast Asia is really cheap. You can get by on as little as 15 dollars per day if you
want, though 25 is more realistic. There's little opportunity to really spend a lot of
money. The two reasons why most people end up overspending is that they eat a lot of
western food and drink way too much. If you want to save money while traveling in this
part of the world, you'll need to cut down the drinking and try to eat as much local
food as you can.
The easiest and cheapest way to get around Asia is by bus. A bus will take you everywhere
and anywhere you want to go, no matter how far. The backpacker trail is so worn that
there is a very well established and oiled tourist bus system to take you anywhere.
Visit the Northeast of Thailand, this area is mostly rice paddies and dusty towns. The
poorest region of Thailand is also the least touristed. Most people don't speak English
here, and there are few major attractions. But the area holds a certain charm and gives
you a unique view of rural Thai life. The roads are less paved, have fewer tourist services,
and you won't find as many posh hotels here. But you will find Thai life at the local Thai
price. For those looking for the real Thailand, this is it.
The biggest one night party in the world can sometimes see up to 30,000 people. Party until
dawn covered in glow paint and dancing the night away with new friends on the island
of Ko Phangan in Thailand.
Bargain in public markets and flea markets where prices aren't fixed, Southeast Asians
actually will give you a bargain if you make them laugh and smile while naming your price,
if they don't try saying bye bye and smile, maybe the vendor might change his mind and
give you a discount. When bargaining for simple things like watches, sunglasses, and shoes
remember that these are marked up indefinitely more than 4 times and can easily be brought
down from 4,500 baht to 800 - 1000. If you can't seem to get them down to a reasonable
price, then you're doing it wrong.
So, there the list of my tips is over. Hope they will help you in your traveling. Good
bye.
