Well, I've decided to morris dance
the entire course of the London Marathon this year.
I've set myself this challenge just because morris dancing is very sensory-based,
it's all about the sound of the bells jingling, the sound of the sticks clashing
and I want to help people whose sensory loss means that
they're facing massive challenges every day of their lives.
I think people take for granted what they have available to them
and I think it's a really great cause.
Both my parents and my older brother dance,
I've been dancing since I was about ten or eleven with various teams.
When I moved up to London to go to uni, I joined the Hammersmith Morris Men,
which is the kit I'll be dancing in.
So yeah, I've been dancing for pretty much most of my life now.
I'll be wearing this top hat with the team ribbons on,
the rosettes and armlets, the breeches,
the classic bell pads, team socks and these customised running shoes.
We normally wear Doc Martens, but I thought,
if I wanted to get to the finish line with my feet in one piece,
running shoes are a better option.
When I first heard that Ben was going to be morris dancing the Marathon,
I thought it was pretty crazy, but after all the training he's been putting in,
I think he'll be able to do it.
Well most of the way, I'm just going to be doing a side-step,
which is what we use for processing normally between pubs,
but it's just a basic step that goes a bit like this.
