I'm a 1993 graduate of Liberty University with a business degree. I grew up in Florida
and my parents had said, "You're not going away from home unless it's some place that
we know it's going to be Bible-based and have really deep spiritual roots for you." So for
all of us, this seemed like a perfect fit. I could not have chosen a better place for
me to go to school. Personally, I grew a lot as a person and as a Christian. I thought,
if I can't answer the questions for myself here about what I believe and why I believe
it, I won't be ready to take it into the world, and I felt like that was what Liberty was
all about. Yes, you're going to get a world-class education
here, but at the same time we're going to root you so deeply in your faith and we're
going to answer those tough questions. But at the same time you're going to have friends,
you are going to have professors, you're going to have staff members who care about what's
happening with you spiritually as well. It's not just about making a certain grade and
turning in a paper. I mean, I felt like my professors really cared. Liberty continues
to add programs and schools. There's a law school. You can go into communications, education,
the sciences. I mean, anything that you want to do. Now especially, all over Washington
D.C. I meet Liberty grads in think tanks and congressional offices, in other media outlets.
I mean they really are everywhere. And every time I see that and I see the next generation
coming through, it's just so exciting to me to know that it's just continuing to grow
- the influence of the school and the mission that Dr. Falwell originally had planned. When
I run into people who have questions about Liberty and students who are considering coming
here, I go on an all-out selling mission to tell them there's really no greater place
they can go to school because there are programs for every line of study, for just about anything
that you would want to do. But at the same time you are going to meet people from around
the world. You are going to go through experiences that challenge and deepen your faith. You
are going to hear from some of the best pastors and speakers and singers. You are going to
have experiences you wouldn't get anywhere else. When it is such an important time in
your development and in your life as a person, why not Liberty? I cannot think
of a better place.
